I'm fed up with audio today. In protest, I'm selling my beloved Emotiva XPA-2 amp. In many ways, it's the best amp I've had. See what I said about it here:

http://www.polkaudio.com/forums/showthread.php?t=69794&highlight=emotiva

Amp is only 6 weeks old and in 9/10 condition. Sale for $650 plus shipping in original box with manual and stock power cord. The sucker weighs 76 lbs. (92 lbs. shipped), so keep that in mind. PayPal only (I'll split the fees).

PM me if interested.
HT/2-channel Rig: Sony 50” LCD TV; Toshiba HD-A2 DVD player; Emotiva LMC-1 pre/pro; Rogue Audio M-120 monoblocks (modded); Placette RVC; Emotiva LPA-1 amp; Bada HD-22 tube CDP (modded); VMPS Tower II SE (fronts); DIY Clearwave Dynamic 4CC (center); Wharfedale Opus Tri-Surrounds (rear); and VMPS 215 sub

For those of you who are wondering WTF I'm doing, I dunno -- there's no rationale answer. It's an impulsive decision. I haven't decided what direction I'll take. I may try a tube amp. Or perhaps some monos. Class A, maybe? Who knows?

I'm interested, but I cannot send a PM as I just joined the forum. Please shoot me an email with your location. I'd be interested in picking it up if you are anywhere near Chicagoland.

Don't be shocked, Terrax. I just sold my "new" preamp, too, and I'm gonna sell my "one-of-a-kind" Promitheus transformer buffer, as well. Startin' all over, basically. Yes, I know -- it's crazy. But don't blame the gear, blame the game. This hobby will drive you nuts.

kk, I'm with ya. Hell, I'm selling speakers I just bought...... So yeah your right, I shouldn't be shocked, or should be questioning my own thinking. Anyway, I wish you the best man!

Oh, and if I weren't looking to buy a good HT Pre, I'd be all over that amp.

Nope. It's all about the gear and any audio hobbyist who tells you "the best part is the music" is a damn liar. No, no. The best part is buying a piece of gear that sounds better than what you replaced it with. It's sorta like getting a BJ on your B-day.

+1 I don't even listen to my gear unless its to make the ears of my guests bleed . . . and that's just a 5 minute demo to show how much bass my system has. Most of the time I just take pictures of my system and post them on the internet to show off.

This is a sad statement. It should always be primarily about the music. Getting that new great sounding piece is icing on the cake, but it starts with good music. Hell, I have music that sounds like crap in the form of bootlegs and I get great enjoyment from that music.......sometimes recorded on a hand held recorder in the back if the arena. It's about the music first.
