RG6 Quad shield for IC's?

Has anybody used RG6 Quad Shield for IC's? I've got more RCA compression connectors and RG6 at my disposal than I could shake a stick at and thought maybe I'd try this, but... If somebody has tried this in comparison to say... blue Jeans or Signal Cable, etc... I'd be interested in opinions before going through the effort.

I may be talking out of turn. But I would think as long as the ohm rating is the same then it should work. But I'm no Rocket scientist. Try it out and do a comparison. what do you have to loose. but be sure you let us know how it works out. I would only do like two first that way you don't waste the connectors.

Hi Aaron. I am using Sanders Sound Systems IC's. He uses a small coax, and they work very well. They replaced my Harmonic Technology Pro Silway MK III +. I am not sure about the quad shielded RG6. You could always ask Roger. He has answered every question I ever put to him. He did tell me he had to travel as his daughter was getting married, so he may not be around for a week or so.

Aaron, I was thinking on the ride home form work, which of late is both unusual and scary. Roger uses a Belden RG59 coax for his IC’s which has a stranded center conductor. This makes them very easy to route and handle. IIRC they do not have a foil shield. They just have a high-value dielectric separating the inner and outer wires so they have a very low capacitance.

With your quad shielding, and the fact that the audio signal isn’t real high voltage, I wouldn’t think you would have any problems using them for IC’s. They most likely have the solid core, so they will be stiff to handle. You may or may not like the results. I like the coax IC’s and even have Roger's coax speaker cables on my panels, but I have ESL’s which are strange anyway.

I am most confident that if you make ICs to fit your set-up (length, etc), with your given materials, that the IC's will not be the weakest link.
