As many of you know some very tragic events have happened in me and my boy's life very recently. I thank all of you who have sent prayers and wishes and been supportive. Things are going ok and we were both blown away and touched by the overwhelming response by people we don't even really know. Thankyou all. Now, why I posted this in the 2 channel section. Several days ago I placed an absentee bid at a local auction house on three boxes of some great 60's to late 80's rock records. I had only briefly browsed them as I was in a hurry. I'd forgotten all about it until I got a phone call from the auction place tonight. Long story short, I won them. 177 records for 93 dollars. All in VG++ or better condition. Zeppelin, Stones, Tull, Sabbath, Cream, Nugent, T.Rex, Pink Floyd, Steely Dan, Santana, Springsteen, Cat Stevens, Elvis Costello, etc etc etc. Many in Near Mint condition. And many that I didn't already have. There were several that I've been really trying to get that I'm too cheap to pay record store or ebay prices for like T.Rex Electric Warrior and Pink Floyd's Animals. Just completely awesome!! A very bright ray of sunshine in the middle of some very dark days. I didn't pray for a big record score but it sure brought a smile to my face when I needed badly. Incidently my son John was totally stoked about it as well and that boy needs joy right now. Thankyou to whoever or whatever sent this special gift to us. And God bless you all for your support in our tough time.

Thats good. Something to focus on can be a real big help when times are tough.
BenPlease. Please contact me a ben62670 @ yahoo.com. Make sure to include who you are, and you are from Polk so I don't delete your email. Also I am now physically unable to work on any projects. If you need help let these guys know. There are many people who will help if you let them know where you are.
Thanks

Cleaning/resleeving LPs will be a geat bonding moment for yo and your son. Do you have a RCM?[
-
I do have a RCM. It's a Nitty Gritty 2.5Fi. Noisy as hell but does a great job. I use a tergitol solution for cleaning/degreasing and reverse osmosis/distilled water for rinsing. Plus an anti-stat carbon fiber brush before any record gets played on the table. Oh, and new plastic inner sleeves for every record cleaned as well.SDA-1C (full mods)

I realize it's a small concession, but congrats on the score!Source: Bluesound Node 2i - Preamp/DAC: Benchmark DAC2 DX - Amp: Parasound Halo A21 - Speakers: MartinLogan Motion 60XTi - Shop Rig: Yamaha A-S501 Integrated - Shop Spkrs: Elac Debut 2.0 B5.2

I have the same RCM (was a 1.5Fi but had Gayle @ NG rebuild to 2.5Fi specs).
Where did you get your tergitol and do you use the 'rinse' cycle using the reservoir tank on the Nitty Gritty?[ -
The tergitol I bought direct from a company in New York called Talas. Here's a link:
http://apps.webcreate.com/ecom/catalog/product_listing.cfm?ClientID=15&SearchType=TalasOnline&SearchField=tergitol
I apply the tergitol manually and let the vac brushes do their thing. Vacuum off. Then the water rinse in the resevoir tankSDA-1C (full mods)

I use the tergitol mixed at 400:1 both S3 and S9 in the same mix. It's important NOT to use too much tergitol as it will have the opposite effect as it does leave residue. Overmixed the residue becomes much harder to reomove in the the rinse. I bought a pint of each tergitol and that will last me a lifetime. I mix it with reverse osmosis/distilled water. If records are really grundgy several cleanings may be required.SDA-1C (full mods)
