Can it be done?

All, let me preface this by saying I'm very new to this site and audio equipment in general.
I recently threw together a simple home theater setup of an entry level Yamaha receiver and an Onkyo dvd/cd changer. It sounds ok, but I'm thinking of selling all that stuff and going with a simple 2 channel system. I was thinking of a Nad 325 integrated amplifier, a Nad 542 cd player and an Oppo 980 dvd player for movies. I don't listen to the radio and mainly listen to cd's and watch a movie now and then.
Here's my question: I do watch T.V. and was wondering how the T.V. would sound running through the integrated amp? Is that even worth doing? I have a Panasonic LCD TV and the sound leaves a lot to be desired. I'd like to keep it as simple as possible. With audio equipment, I like a laid back sound, easy operation and not a lot of clutter. The speakers I'll be getting are Monitor Audio Rs6 which sounded laid back to me, but I heard they can be bright. That is why I was thinking Nad.
Feel free to laugh. I'm just askin!!
Thanks,

Yes you will get better sound by outputing your TV's audio to the NAD amp.I have a Panasonic plasma and run its sound through my audio system as the tv's internal speakers sound dreadful.Testing

Thanks for the replies. I hate messing with all the connections, 4 remotes etc...
I'd rather have a simple good sounding setup. Heck I can always get an AV receiver later.
Here's my next question: What would you all recommend for audio connections (i.e. from the cd player to the amp)? I ran optical and HDMI in my previous setup and I'd like to know what is the best for the NAD?
Appreciate all the help!
