I have two more RTiA's coming. I just cannot believe how clear, crisp, and awesome they sound. I've been listening to eveything in my collection from 70's, classic rock, county, motown, and new stuff from today. Its unblievable how the vocals are so clear. I guess anyone could tell by the way Im sounding that its been a long time since I've had music in my home. My room is 22x20 and I was a little worried about having enough sound, but even without the other two speakers in, its really filling my room, and not just loud boomy noise either. Its all just quality sound.

I have to say too that the subwoofer really sends movement throughout all of me. I may have to turn it down some. I have it inside of my entertainment cabinet(an antique armoire). Could it be sounding like this because its enclosed? I can sometimes feel the vibration sitting on my sofa if I have the volume up enough.

I have these connected to my new Denon 3808CI. The ethernet port on this thing is really cool because now I can access all of my music from windows media. Thats where it all is.

I am now forever a 'polkie' fan.

I'm still smiling over the sonic goodness I get from 2 dinky RTI4s and my PSW303 for 2-channel listening. And when I watch movies in 5.1 - its better than the movie theater!

Congrats on your set up. It can be amazing and enjoyable to listen to music on a nice rig. Just hold on to your wallet, it only gets worse from now on!!

Does your sub HAVE to be in the cabinet? You will get a much more refined sound if it was out of the cabinet. The cabinet is adding resonance and amplifies the frequencies the sub creates. That is why it seems you may have to turn it down.

If it is acceptable to your significant other, try placing the sub in a corner. See if the sound is better or worse. I think it may sound better. There are a lot of threads here on setting up a sub.

my significant other would not care if i put holes in the walls or if they were purple for that matter. He's a man! Men, or most men just don't care about those things and it looks like our son will be the same way. On the other hand, I watch every muddy step he takes in my house while chasing him back out to clean his shoes. This has been my project adding a AV reciever. It all started when I got my pool last fall put in. I decided that I wanted music outside, and yes, one thing does lead to another. I soon realized that recievers have changed alot since 20 years ago and now the setups are called "Home Theatres". So, now we have music outside as well as inside. And, we are watching tv with really good sound. Never would I have even thought about that before now. So, its me that will have to be OK with trying the sub out somewhere else. I will have to see if I can arrange it somewhere else. I have a room/house full of expensive antique furniture. Maybe if I can hide it somewhere behind a chair.

Hiding it behind a chair is not a bad idea as long as it is not an overstuffed model. Something with legs and open space. That would take some experimenting with which chair sounds the best hiding the sub. That may sound off the wall, but the chair can have a big impact on the sub. But, if that is not possible you can "dress" it up. My wife did not like the look of our sub in our other house. Now a lot of people may not like this idea but it worked for us.

She took a large doily and some very thin, matte fabric (very important, do not use shiney material)that of course color coordinated, and draped it over the sub. She then put a fake potted plant with a wicker basket and some soft nick nacks on it. Hard objects tend to vibrate and fall off. Oh, and by the way, a real plant WILL die.
