I just got an update from the guy that i got my two Mirage Omni S8s from... he got in a Klipsch RW-10D, and wants to know if i'd be interested.

Is this even worth a listen? I know the KSW-series isn't worth anything, but i've heard good things about the newer RWs.

Thoughts?
I don't read the newsssspaperssss because dey aaaallllllllll...... have ugly print.

I'm about to pick up an open box one for about $250-has some very minor dents in the cone, hopefully it won't affect the sound-but I guess $250 (50% off) is a good deal. I expect to be getting a decent sub (for my room size-no refelection on this one) in the coming months.

I'm sure mine had more abuse than that-looks like it was probably a display model at BB.

I saw another NIB on ebay (Buy it Now) for $299 +$35 s/h, but of course that's minus factory warr., but that's about $100 more--I figure this will be good enough for now (better than what I have), and will eventually be relegated to a smaller room where it will likely shine when I get my REAL sub.

Besides-its open box so it can be returned with no restocking fee if it's really not worth it-Not sure what those dents will do.

If they are just in the dust cover, nothing at all.

    Nice little sub.

Well I picked up two--. Both on clearance and open box (and no tax). The ML was about $175 more, but if its worth it.....

I decided to try them both out-One update-they apparently had another RW-10D that was pristine-no dents-no scratches

Yep the dents were in the area of the dustcap in the center. Maybe I should get it also and have two subs  --nah wife will never go for that in the Family Room (maybe in the future ded. HT)

I'll try hooking them up tonight to see what I think, but with the wife and kids trying to sleep, I will not be able to do any serious listening yet. :(

Well, hard to decide-I am not sure I am listening to the right sources to make a better educated guess-They both sound good at least compared to my old Sony 120w 10". I am sure that I have to first tune and set them up properly before I can do any fair comparisons-I would presume that at least they have some breaking in hours on them already since they were the displays.

The Klipsch had a lot of port noise in the low freq sweep compared to the ML, but I suppose that's normal since the ML is sealed and there's a honkin big port on the front of the Klipsch that blows my hair back.

At this point I'll start a new thread for opinions between the two-I don't want to hijack your thread. I'll post back here if I have anything specific to say about the Klipsch.

It's cool man. I'm picking mine up this evening, and i'll try to get some impressions on it by the end of the weekend vs. the S8s. I'm mainly trying it out of curiousity, i don't really anticipate it being a step up, more of a lateral move.
