Rotel RB-1080 High Current Two Channel Amplifier
This is the Current Series, Current Model with dual binding posts. There is light scratch on top and tiny nick on front and top corner if you look at carefully but doesnt show in picture. I like to get $600.
Description from Rotel:
The RB-1080 rests close to the pinnacle of Rotel's two channel power amplifier designs. Power output of 200 watts per channel (20 Hz to 20 kHz @ 0.03% THD into 8 ohms) is extraordinary. The Rotel-made toroidal transformer feeds separate power supplies for each channel, each with its own rectifiers, voltage regulators, and capacitor banks. Damping factor, at 1,000, shows this amplifier's unparalleled ability to lock onto the most difficult speakers to precisely control diaphragm motion and give you the best sound quality. Switchable balanced (XLR) and unbalanced (RCA) inputs provide flexible system interface. Front panel heat sinks add a strikingly dramatic look and serve a functional purpose by enhancing heat dissipation even in cramped environments. And a separate input and output for 12 volt "trigger" signals makes this amplifier well suited for fully integrated systems with total remote control capability.

If you can swing this, it's a nice snag! I even thought about it (if I were better...) -
Thanks for the praise guys.

I'm still thinking about it. So if anyone else is interested it is still available. I don't want to hold things up if someone else wants it.Polk RTi 8's

Same for the Denon I bought from him. Somebody should pick this up.Things work out best for those who make the best of the way things work out.-John Wooden -
Wow, I'm an idiot. I just realized this was the 1080 and not the 1070. I've looked at the thread a bunch and kinda scoffed at it because I thought $600 was a little much for the 1070. But the 1080 is a whole other animal. I have no money right now or else I would buy this in a heartbeat. Would you accept monthly payments with prime rate interest? (I'm serious):D

Does this amp output in 4ohms? I have a pair of LSi15's that I would love to power with, is this a good amp for those speakers?
-
I got your SPL meter Nick, the sad thing is I have no speakers to use with for now.
Thank you Paul.
GEBBY, give me your SS and DOB, I'll check your credit.
Don't be surprised if you have more credit cards that you never had
TRINADS, I think this amp can handle 4ohm load very well. 200W/8ohm, 350W/4ohm? -
DOB and SS sent;) And my credit report would probably actually be bad right now simply because my parents were in a dispute with T-mobile over a bill that was double-charged and since my name was on the account, too, I'm listed in the suit they filed as well. Point being, T-mobile is terrible and they have probably temporarily lowered my credit (although I haven't checked it yet).
Seriously guys, this is my next upgrade if money weren't tight and it would be great for lots of people here. Don't let this go to Agon. -
Does this come with the Rotel box, owners manual, power cord?

I have OEM Rotel box, downloaded manual and power cord.

i so want this amp but cash is tight will be in the red for the next month sence it is summer and no school

yes. My Rotel 1080 drives my LSi 25s fantastically! and I paid quite a bit more than $600 so this is a steal in my neck of the woods!

Just want to clarify that the box doesn't have any mark on it other than the tape. But this is from Rotel.

SALE PENDING to GEBBY44.

And it will be sold to me. Big ups to MKZ as he has been easy to work with and always has good stuff. I may be his most frequent customer from the past month (MIT IC's, DVD's, amp). Money order will be sent out soon.
This is my last piece of gear for a while (I know, everybody roll your eyes). Bet you've never heard that before on this forum.
