Surround Bar question

Could a Surround Bar (probably the 50) be used just as surround speakers with a set of "real" fronts? My current setup is 2ch. I want to set up surround for HT, but I have 2 limiting factors:

1. There is no place in the room where I could conceivably put rear speakers.
2. I just can't bring myself to give up the sound and punch of my large main speakers (also SDA's :D).

So could I use a Surround Bar as the rest of the speakers for HT?

Not really. I would look at an inwall/ceiling soulution. They have come a long way in SQ.

Have you considered the Polk Audio Owm 3? They were designed to work in any living space and are mountable in multiple directions.

I saw those at the store last week and they are goofy looking little speakers. But, can fit anywhere and blend into any room, so good design I guess.

They do look a little odd, but they sound great especially for their small size and flat design. They sound very close to the smaller RM Series satellites; like the RM201s (not sure if you had the priviledge of hearing them).

New guy, neophite wants to know if anyone has tested, analyzed or listened to the new 360 Sound bar. I know it indicates subwoofer is unnecessary, but I have trouble believing that. Has anyone heard them? Is the included sub sufficient? Secondly, the only review I can find gave a low rating for "power", suggesting insufficient power. Can anyone tell me more about it. Any and all info would be appreciated.

If you have an unfriendly room the sound-bar can be a blessing, but not a substitute. You need a sub;)
