Hi all I have a few questions about my SDA1a. (They are 2 inline vertical tweeters, over 4 midrange, over 1 radiator vinyl wood cabinets) I bought them new back in 1986 I have done nothing to them at all. Now that I find myself getting back into vinyl Im thinking they might need some TLC.
Im running a B&K st140amp and a pro 5 pre amp
At what most would consider normal volume and appropriate music they are flawless.
At LOUD volume these are my problems
First problem is that at loud volume the tweeters cut out but will rest themselves over time.
Second at loud volume with newer music the radiators pop hard and must be turned down.
Are there any upgrades that can be made? Im more of the swap stuff out kind of guy not the soldering gun type.
Also were can I get these replacement parts and Im thinking of selling them what is a good price
Thank you all

Welcome to the forum. This thread: http://www.polkaudio.com/forums/showthread.php?t=70737 and many others are available to help you if you can find them
I have stock sda 1b's that I paid $275 for with 2 blown tweeters.
Many that sell their sda's end up regretting it later. -
Welcome to The Forum
Our fellow members will give their excellent advice how to address your concerns. My first thought is everyone thats expects great sound out of their SDA's needs to first provide good clean power and you will have excellent results. You have a great pair of speakers so sit back and enjoy and get a budget together. I have spent about $800 on my SRSII's and $700 on everything else and have a system that sounds better than systems costing 3 times more.
I hope you are ready to become a Polkamaniac because you may be well on your way and not even know it!!
