I dont have a amp I know i need one. but I talk my finacee into getting LSI15s :D.So now my reciever i cant select a 4ohm i can only do 6 and 8. the question is if I bi amp the speakers will that be less of a load and if i turn it up a little bit will it cause clipping?

I dont know about all tweeter stores but the one in Belir has LSI15's for 999 a pair new.

From what I've read on various places on the web, the Pios don't play well with 4-ohm speakers, they like to go into protection mode, and shut down. You might be able to get away with bi-amping, if it's changing it to an 8-ohm load.

Sounds like a good price for the 15's though, but I'd look for some separate amplification, with the savings.

I would not worry about clipping as much as just driving your amp into protection mode. With low impedance loads, it may demand more current than your AVR can supply driving it into protection even at lower volumes or when crossed over to a sub.

You can try it, but be prepared to get an amp.
    Mains.............Polk LSi15 (Cherry)
    Center............Polk LSiC (Crossover upgraded)
Surrounds.......Polk LSi7 (Gloss Black - wood sides removed and crossovers upgraded)
    Subwoofers.....SVS 25-31 CS+ and PC+ (both 20hz tune)
    Pre\Pro...........NAD T163 (Modded with LM4562 opamps)
    Amplifier.........Cinepro 3k6 (6-channel, 500wpc@4ohms)

great price on the 15's, I wonder if they are clearing them out at your tweeter store. Take a listen to the Cambridge Audio gear at Tweeter and see how they mate with the 15's.

Hi Frank. I just recently purchased a pair of LSi15s and am very happy with them. My yamaha amp can be switched from 4 to 8 ohm but I have it set to 8 ohm now and the speakers and amp are fine. Biamping will not change the output impedance of your receiver. Running speakers in parallel or in series will however change their input impedance....but who wants to do this. As a general rule it is always better to try to match imput impedance with output impedance. I am getting a new amp this next week and from what i have been gathering these speakers are good with a receiver but shine with a high power amp. I wil be seeing for myself next week. I say get the speakers now and you can always add an amp later....lots of good amps for $200-$300 here.
