Muddy presentation

I had left the world of Polk but now I am back..! I purchased a pair of LS90's and a CS 350Ls center w/4 Monitor series 2 for surrounds... Boy does the center sound muddy..? even the wife noticed!!!
I am wondering if this center is power hungry? I don't have a Mega buck system but the Denon should feed it 80W(rated power)...??
Any ideas..? Is it time to re-cap? I love the LS90's and I thought they timbre matched... so..???

I had a CS350 running off a 100w Pioneer and teamed up with RT800s it sounded well matched. When I tried it with 1.2TLs, it was as you described. I had to go out and get the CSI5.
You might want to check to make sure the tweeter is working. If it goes out, it will be all mids.
I'm sure others here will have a better course of action for you. Hang in and they'll be here.Driver carries only 20 dollars in ammunition

I've proposed a solution here:

Should cost about $90 total for a used active crossover (Rane AC-22) and whatever you can get a low-powered amp for, to power the tweeter. I'd imagine that would make a dramatic improvement.
