Saw a SRT8 at a local car show last week. They're kinda portly looking in person.

I can not believe they (Chrysler) showcase this car BUT don't have it available in a manual yet.

It will still do 0-60 in 4.5 seconds with the autostick. That's quicker than any 60's/early 70's muscle car. Not too shabby for a naturally aspirated, 4140+/- pounder. The six-speed should take another few tenths off that time.

wouldnt say they handle like crap, but I'll agree that there are annoying issues with the typical Stang suspension. I gotta sneaky suspiscion you test drove, hit some bumpy roads and learned but fast how much a panhard bar on a solid axle is not a fan of bumpy roads. I had the same issues, specially in Jersey

I dumpd over 2 g's into my Mustangs suspension to get it the way I wanted it, best 2 g I ever spent on a car.

I love how the Challenger looks, and it posts some respective numbers, as well as good handling from what I heard for the tubby **** she is. its a badass car to be sure

but 10g over sticker for drealer markup bad ****? I dont know man...........I have the same opinion for the Shelby GT500 too badass ride that only a silly goose would pay 15g over sticker for.

its why I went the plain old Mustang GT route, I'll pay out of pocket to do the stuff I want to it. Its like a blank canvas begging for paint.

the mustang was nice just you get on it with the tcs off and it was a little slappy. they were trying to get me to buy challenger srt8 for 35k out the door. i didnt have to pay taxes tag fee anything and they took 2k off their price. I just wanted a test drive and almost sigh my life away.

You should have jumped all over that deal. You could have made a decent profit if you didn't want to keep it.

sounds like wheel hop from notoriously underperforming lower control arms on the rear suspension. I dont do alot of hard accelerations so I never changed mine, but its pretty well documented as an issue, and changing them is another one of those things alot of stang owners do. supposedly not too expensive or hard to do yourself actually.

Now, as for the 35k for the SRT8, dude, you should have jumped on it. I'm thinking they miscommunicated the deal and that migth have been for the RT. its actually a decent deal for the RT. I here mark up is a **** on both.

markup on the RT should die down fast, but the SRT? not so sure

well heres the thing. i am only 21 i walk into the dealership look at it sit. I watch the salesman sit there and talk to other salesman, no customers were there just me and my finacee for about 30 minutes watching these people untell they came to me. Finally when i get some service I say i want to talk to the manager this is B/S making a big deal for not getting service. so he hands me the keys and goes and puts the tag on the car so i could drive it. we had it out for about 25min.Comeback and we sit down and talk he says the R/T wont be out tell 2009 along with the manual and starting price on them will be around 26k. The Srt8 was listed 37k. i ask if there were any rebates or free gass , ect and there was nothing. so i say what about the poor service. he said well let me see what i can do. took 2k plus taxes and stuff off i was this is funny, then i told him i am going to go look at a few other cars and left. I can afford one but I am going to wait.

    Frank,

I was in the Auto business for a while.........the way you describe that going down, I got a sense of shenanigans. I think your gut subconsciously told you that to and thats why you walked out.

either way, might have been a good thing not signing papers there, who knows
