I realize that this is based on a "scientific calculation" of grammys, sales, etc., as opposed to a register of public opinion, but nevertheless I have a mixed response:

On the one hand, I'm glad to see that Abbey Road made the top five. That's my favorite by the Beatles but seems to be often overshadowed by Seargent Peppers, Revolver and The White Album by "the critics"

On the other hand, even with four Led Zeppelin albums, Led Zeppelin II did not make the top 20??? Hmmm...that's their signature work as far as I'm concerned. And Physical Graffitti was the highest ranking of the four??? Well, I don't have anything negative to say about Physical Graffitti, but I don't think it can hold a candle to II or even a few of their others (i.e. Houses of the Holy at #17). So, yeah, I'm a little surprised....

Its a made up list put out there just to dis the stones:p

But seriously, if you are talking "best albums" it should be something you want to listen to front to back, not just one or two songs.

George Michael!? nobody is listening to that front to back.

Whoever developed that list should be tied in a chair while "Woodstock" is played non-stop for 24 hours.
JC approves....he told me so. (F-1 nut)

I have 14 of them (including his top 9). But I would not consider them to necessarily be 14 of my top 20 albums. 5 or 6 of them might fall in that category.

Ok people...did you read the preamble? The list was based on certain stirct criteria. NOT on personal preference. Based on the criteria outlined in the preamble I accept it fully. Based on my personal preference I say it's such much hooey. Please read the full story and not just the list. Sheeeesh.
