that's a linky
$350 shipped/insured
You can rip a select few of your CD's (~130) to the internal 80GB HD or swap in a larger hard drive for more storage space. Transfer your favorite tapes and LP's to CD with this unit as well. I don't have the user manual, but can send you a digital copy. Top's slightly scratched up, but the front fascia's clean. About 100+ CD's are already on the HD, so you'll be getting those, too. Stock IEC power cord included. Roughly 20 feet of composite video cable and null modem cable (for RS232 connection) included, too.
Please post interest in this thread, PM'ing any questions/details as you see necessary. Payment by MO only, and it will be shipped/insured through UPS. Continental US only.

I took a better look at the unit and snapped some more pictures today. Overall it's in good shape. There are a few nicks on the right side of the faceplate, one spot on the top of the unit (in the front right corner), and some light swirl marks on the right side. The faceplate still does look nice, though, but there is one nick on the edge that's fairly noticeable.
Front of the unit:
The left side of the unit:
The back of the unit:
The right side of the unit:
Here's a closeup of the front faceplate of the unit broken up into three shots:
(You can see the nicks really well in this first photo. That's by far the worst part of the unit.)
And an angled shot of the front:
You can see the top of the unit here:
(Again, you can see the nicks from this angle. Nothing really detracting, though they're noticeable.)
And here's a picture of the remote:
She's in great shape, and a very convenient way to convert your favorite works from their old analog medium to a more convenient digital medium for playback in the car, working out with the iPod, etc.George Grand wrote: »

No interest in this unit? It's very handy to switch between CD's without actually having to physically switch CD's. Just rotate the jog dial on the front to the CD you wanna hear and BAM there it is.
However, its true value, as far as I'm concerned, is transferring analog to digital.
How about $325 shipped?George Grand wrote: »

I don't think anything is wrong with it. It's a pretty sweet piece of gear. But my bet is that most people have their iPods for digital storage and don't really see this as replacing that in the house. But if I had the funds, I'd be on this. Nice piece.

I agree, I could by a 160gb ipod for that price.HT setup

Hmm, nice touch, here. I can't re-edit my previous post anymore. Oh well, guess I'll have to make ANOTHER one. Not like I mind making a lot of posts.
Last call on this unit before I move it off to audiogon in a few days.

Still to much but good luck with your sale for that i can get an apple tv for just about that. I don't even think a lot of people burn discs anymore. I know I don't.HT setup

I'm thinking you aren't an accurate representation of the typical audiophile, either. I'm sure they're ALL lined up to get their 'apple tv'. Thanks for letting me know it's too much, though.

It is a nice piece of gear. And I always liked Yamaha. I wouldn't mind owning it, but I'm so freakin' broke now from paying vet bills. cc's are maxed and I may need to sell a kidney. Good luck with the sale.
If I lived in Hawaii I would probably need your kidney because I'd be partying all the time. I'm surprised yours are in sell-able condition. Mine would be condemned to the depths of hell by any transplant doctor.;)
This is a fine piece of gear for anyone looking for a good cd player with the added bonus of a hard drive. Hopefully you're able to sell it on Agon if no one here ponies up. Good luck with the sale. -
With this CD-R are you able to index songs? I ask because with recording LPs I would need the feature. Have you recorded any LPs with this unit?[
-
I have recorded my Yes - Big Generator album onto the HD. And actually, it's still on there, so whoever buys it will be able to hear how that turned out. However, that was with a cheap turntable and minimal cleaning of the record.
I don't know exactly what you're talking about with indexing, and it's been a long time since I recorded the album onto HD so I can't remember how exactly I did it, but I do remember it was VERY simple to break up the individual tracks as I was recording it. I don't remember if the unit did it automatically or if I pushed a button between tracks. Probably the latter, but I remember it was very simple and I was able to do it while it was recording instead of having to go back and do it later.George Grand wrote: »

What I mean by indexing is numbering the songs individually so you can skip to a particular song.[ -
Then, yes. Each track is broken up separate from the rest. And with the R32 cable connected to a serial port on your computer you can easily name the album and each track via a free program downloaded from Yamaha's website. You can still do the same thing with the remote or the buttons on the front of the unit, but it's just easier to use the computer keyboard and send it that way.George Grand wrote: »

I have the 1500 version, I love it and plan to never ever sell it. Mine sounds great. With Bens cables hooked to it.

I have to bump this one as well. I recommend it to anyone.
