Ok I need some help with picking an amp that will push my two 12" 400 watt Polk subs. I want some major bass but I can only spend $200. If anyone can help me out it would be very much appreciated!! Thanx,

Adam

    Try WWW.SAVINGLOTS.COM
They have a JBL BP600.1 Mono class "D" amp. Makes 600 watts rms at 2 ohm for $190
They have other amps as well. I founf them when I was surfing the net last week.

    if they're 400 rms and they're polk 12's, then they're either DB's or DX's...

from experience... i suggest a good quality class D... an old mtx 500d would be idea... they came out of the box 700 - 750 rms into 2 ohms.

a newer mtx 6500d would also do the job well.

the jbl 600.1 is a good amp that is inexpensive, but it lacks an SS filter, and they are only 500 - 550 at 12.5 volts, doing their marked 600 at 13.8...

the polk 12's need something a little more... 350 per sub i've found to be ideal on them. -- the mtx would be the way to go... 600 - 650 at 12.5 and upwards of 700 - 725 or more at 13.8

happy hunting (last check 6500d's were about 250 on ebay new in box and crutchfield has them on sale right now for 299 i think or something)
