Ideally I would like to get a Rotel, Parasound, etc to push it.
I just used my old AVR (both the new and the old one have almost identical specs and sound VERY similar ....100wpc @ .006 THD, etc.Living Room:....................

Zone 2 (Workout Room):

I was bored and tried bi-amping with two yamaha receivers (instead of using my actual amp) and honestly couldnt hear any real difference.
Even with the 200 watt amp the audio difference between that and the yamaha receiver's amp is minimal if not exactly the same at normal volume levels. -
I bi-amped my rti-8s with my onk 805 and noticed a nice increase in the bass output.
It is still bi-amped :-)Living Room setup: Pioneer Elite VSX-21TXH, Krell KAV 300i, PS Audio DL III DAC, Tyler Acoustics Taylo 7u, Dynaudio Audience 120C+, SVS 25/31PCI, B-P-T Clean Power Center, Ps3, Panny 50" S1 Plasma, Tekline speaker cables, Audio Art interconnects, and Pangea power cables. -
Bi-Amping helped a TON!! I can't believe how much better they sound. And I will say that it is a lot more tunable...Living Room:....................

Zone 2 (Workout Room):

Hi,
I know this might sound silly, but I am new and learning. But I am looking and but dont quite understand. For Bi-amping do I have wires running from my reciever and amp to the connections on the speaker? or Do I have the am connect to my mains and the reciever conencted to the others? I am trying to understand correctly before I purchase more gear. Thanks for any help.
I have an Onkyo 805 and Rti8s. -
Hope this helps...Living Room:....................

Zone 2 (Workout Room):

+1.
Had done this with RTi10's and Onk705 - expecting nothing. But improvement was undeniable.
Based on incredible differences of opinion re effect of Bi-Amping I've come to think that results vary significantly based on specific Speaker/Receiver combo.
Given how simple (and CHEAP) biAmping is: I feel it's always worth a try. If you're not pleased, just unhook extra cables and replace the jumpers. (DONT FORGET to Tell your Receiver for either change)LR Setup:

URGENT HELP needed - Please help me out...
My current HT config is
- Onkyo SR805 receiver
- Polk CSi A6 (Center)
- Velodyne DLS-3500R (Sub-woofer)
- 2 Polk RTi8s (front left and front right)
- 3 Bose JewelCube Speakers (3 back surround - left, center, right)
- others - PS3, A35, etc.
I bought the RTi8s yesterday at Fry's. In setting the RTi8s up , I was wondering if I need to look at bi-amping the two Front speakers. If so, should I consider the 'single-wire' option mentioned above in the thumbnails?
Please pardon my ignorance - Is there any benefit of single-wire v/s bi-amping v/s bi-wiring the front speakers? -
Personally, I would bi-wire them right away with your receiver. That way if you ever decided to bi-amp them, you already have the speaker wire there.....Living Room:....................

Zone 2 (Workout Room):
