This incident has made all the national news media outlets....It happened only a couple of blocks from the condo I own where my daughters live while going to college. Seems like everyday we see more and more stories of some deranged person on a killing spree. Where are all these wackos coming from?

God... this brings back memories of the mall shooting I witnessed last year. It is a completely horrifying and helpless feeling. My heart goes out to these people.
I never had it like this where I grew up. But I send my kids here because the fact is you go to one of the best schools in the country: Rushmore. Now, for some of you it doesn't matter. You were born rich and you're going to stay rich. But here's my advice to the rest of you: Take dead aim on the rich boys. Get them in the crosshairs and take them down. Just remember, they can buy anything but they can't buy backbone. Don't let them forget it. Thank you.Herman Blume - Rushmore

We were just having this discussion " Are there more idiots or just more media coverage?"
That headline should have been of the hero not the shooter. And, as for the other guy I am just happy that he was not able to shoot himself like some of these other cowards.
And I mean calling all cars, blackhawk down, mushroom cloud, Three Mile Island, lock the door behind you kind of mad.

There was that angle in the local media.

That's great to see the hero getting some credit. I went to high school in Tennessee and still know a lot of people in Knoxville at UT and all of them are scared shitless that there are whack-jobs like this walking around. One high school classmate's cousin was in the church. It's sick that freaks like this will probably get sentenced to a mental hospital and not put to death like he should be. Damn liberal lawyers.

I don't know where these people come from, but I wish they had the intestinal fortitude to do the right thing and just blow their own damned head off.

apparently this guy had a major beef with Christians. He also was missing the chromosome that allows people to do there own thing without you freaking out about it.

I'll never understrand zealots who have anger toward others for having different views and beliefs. I dont care about other peoples beliefs, its when they directly affect me (planes flying into buildingd, federal buildings blowing up, shooting rampages) when I have the issue.

what kind of anger did this guy have to where he felt the prudent choice wa to shoot up a church having a childrens play? honestly, I'll never get it. I do have a hyper sensitive understanding that people who dont exactly follow logic are out there waiting to do crazy **** though

You hit the nail squarely on the head Steve. He planned on shooting till the police killed him...Thank God for the HERO in the congregation!

It's not enought to carry so much hate...but to be a coward to boot and have to take a bunch of people with him to for authorites to do what he doesn't have the guts to do himself. I hope he lives a long and miserable life followed by eternity in hell.
