SVS Comparisons for HT

I need a sub for mainly HT use (I don't see it being used much for audio only).
I have some space constraints and have narrowed it down between the SVS
25-31 PC Plus and the SB-12 plus (cube).

I know the cylinders get rave reviews, but I envision them as another obstacle / target in the room its going in. What are the thoughts of the Forum, or am I 'splitting hairs' here...

ive got the 20-39 pc plus and i love it. i chose it over the cube for space issues and i think it looks cooler. Im pretty sure that the two subs have identical output, same driver and amp. Remember, for the cylinders you have to choose the height to match what frequency you want it tuned at (also adjustable)...

Just go with the one you like more!

For home theater use - I would (and have) take the 25-31PC Plus. The SB-12 plus is a sealed design and while it will work great for music, I do not think the extension and output for home theater use will match the 25-31+.

If it was a choice between the PB-12 and the 25-31, I would take the PB-12 for the deeper tune.

I have an SVS Cylinder sub,a PC-Ultra... and love it for HT use.

    I'm looking at the SB-12 for our 2-channel set-up.

I think you would be happy with a 25-31,many say they are a true performer for thier size.

Don't forget SVS has a return policy,if it doesn't trip your trigger, you can always return it.

I too have the PC-Ultra but have not heard the 25-31 Plus. However I would not hesitate to recommend the cylinder based SVS subs. The weight is carried low so for a target they don't tip over easily. thier foot print is not too bad if you don't mind how tall they are.
