Bi amp questions

So I have a couple questions I was hoping someone could help me with. My equipment is i nmy sig so that should help. I was trying to figure a way to bi amp my rti12s using my amp and my receiver. In theory i could use the amp on the lower binding posts of the speaker and run ffrom my reciever to my speakers using the upper binding posts. Will this help and or will it matter that the amp will be pushing 250 watts and the receiver will only do 110 watts. Is that bad that the two different portions of the speaker are getting different power sent to them. If so my reciever has the ability to bi amp turning the surround rear speaker outs to fronts. Is there a way to use both the front and surroundback turned front together to the upper binding posts of the speaker to get 220 watts to the upper half of the speaker almost matching the 250 watts of the amp. I hope i am explaining this correctly but i dont want to put both of those sets of wires together on the same binding post i dont know if that will just blow the whole thing up. ps i am to lazy to spell check this post sorry.

When you bi-amp you should be pushing the same amount of power threw easch post. I beilieve if they are different you could damaged your electronics and your speakers. plus The amp probably has a slight delay in its audio reproduction.HT setup

I may be reading you incorrectly, but if you are planning to take both amps and put both of them on the same binding posts.....
That's one expensive no-no. Do NOT attempt to do this.
If you are planning to do it the way I think you are going to do it, remove the connector between the upper and lower binding posts before connecting both amps to the speakers. You may also want to do a little bit of research before you do this. Timing issues [as mentioned] are but one of the possible issues that you might encounter.
That said, done correctly, bi-amping can do wonders for your end result [what actually hits your ears].~ In search of accurate reproduction of music. Real sound is my reference and while perfection may not be attainable? If I chase it, I might just catch excellence. ~ -
Sounds like he wants to bi-wire, sans active crossover.
In a true bi-amp system, speaker effeciency is no longer an issue. The amps can be independently adjusted to match the whole system. It just takes the knowledge and experience to do it properly. -

I'm getting the same feeling too. You MUST remove the jumpers before you do this, otherwise you'll be essentially putting both amps on the same binding posts and you don't want to do this.polkaudio RT35 Bookshelves

I have RTI-12s, and Pioneer Elite vx91, and a Luxman M117.
The Luxman is supposedly 200WPC RMS @ 8 ohms, 400@4 and 700@2.
Currently the Luxman powers the 12s, and the receiver powers the center and surrounds. I let the Pioneer calibrate the speaker levels, and it of course turns down the Mains due to the large amount of power.
The Pio has a setting to specify the signal to the Surround back speaker outs as a front bi-amp output. Can I use the Pio on the Mids/Hi post and the Luxman on the woofers of my 12's? I think the Luxman has levels on the back I can turn down. Will I break anything doing this?
Would a better alternative be to use the Pio to Bi Amp fronts, and use the Luxman bridged for the Center Polk CSi6? I'm thinking when in two channel listening the old Luxman probably has better qualities, but of course subjective listening is going to be the factor wrtt.
Thanks Polkies!
