A Warning and whining

Hey,

I've been away from here for a while working hard trying not to spend money on any gear.

Unfortunately my first writing is a warning to those considering purchasing products from resellers - even those authorized. The warning isn't about the company below specifically as this could happen to anyone but more about resellers of products not manufactured in the US or warranteed for more than 30/60 days by the seller or manufacturer.

I took the risk making the purchase and got what I consider a pretty good price on a cdp player and am happy with my players performance in general but you see below I sacrificed quality customer service and missed the manufacturer standing behind their product/service.

While I'd still consider buying from the below or others it is something to consider.

I don't think I left out anything pertinent and there is no bias or editing below (except maybe a typo). You can fill in in a couple of spots where there was a simple exchange in emails. ( A couple of points - I did buy it direct from them and I had all the paperwork which I provided back to them. I was able to get them to take off $30 on the repair - but still a painful process overall) Note the dates and how long this took.

Anyway, if you are inclined read from the bottom up like you would an email thread. Otherwise check out the latest from Stephen Malkmus and the Jicks!

OK who wants to sell me a nice amp or recommendations for tubed integrated with HT pass sub $1500? (VAC AVATAR?)

On 6/3 I got an online invoice for:
CD Player REPCDPLYR 1 90.00
Subtotal 90.00
Shipping 41.45
Tax 0.00
Total 131.45

Did you buy your cd player from us? What is your order
number? - we can't seem to find it....

We just sent a message to Bada - lets email tomorrow -
maybe we will have more info.

I can ship it out tomorrow or Thursday if that will make things
go quicker. I was told it was easy and I could probably
do it myself so I said ok.

If I ship it to you using 2 day is it something where
you could ship it back to me next week? Or are we still
waiting on a part?

Tell me the best way to get this resolved and I'll
do it.

Understand that this is an unusual request for us
in that folks usually ship things here and we repair
them. So we are being patient also.

I assume this means nobody has requested the part yet from
China or maybe you now have it here in the US?
I've been SUPER patient giving the benefit of the
doubt the entire time for a month and a half but seems
I'm back to where I was more than a month ago.

I'd appreciate your help in hopefully expediting
this going forward.

It's a Philips as mentioned and I see a
Philps labeled sticker which indicates l1210/68. I can't
confirm if that's the part number however. How many
Philips laser/tray mechanisms did they use. I realize
some were sony which this is not.

Can you confirm where I should look to confirm the part number?

Do you have a model #? Is it a Phillips CDM 12?

Any word on getting the correct part sent? Nobody responded from last week. I'd really like to get back to using my cd player.

Thanks
Rich

We thought that Bada had sent it, but they have not.
They need to know if it is a SONY or Phillips laser -
can you tell? If not, you will have to send it here for
repair.

Your laser is going. So common for any CD player :-(
We can fix it for you or send you the part and you
can take it to a local electronics store shop for repair.
Its pretty straight forward.
