Can anyone Recommend Some Good Bluegrass CD's

I would like to second, and third and fourth, the earlier recommendation of "Will the Circle be Unbroken," by the Nitty Gritty Dirt Band. It's not really an NGBD album; the main attraction is the guests, who if memory serves include Doc Watson, Maybelle Carter, Merle Travis, and a lot of other people. Many of the tracks are country, old fashioned honky tonk rather than MTV-pop-crossover rubbish. Many more of the tracks are instrumental bluegrass jams, and these remind me of the Brandenburg concertos, for lack of a better comparison. The playing is excellent.
Alison Krause, Ricky Skaggs, Rhonda Vincent, are OK. Volumes II and III of WTCBU are OK. Volume I is in a different league; it's a great record.
ps perhaps everyone is already familiar with this record in which case please forgive my enthusiasm. -
Hey Nikolas,
Anything by New Grass Revival will have Bela Fleck on banjo and he is the master. I'm a big fan. Excellent musicanship all around.
If you like that and have any interest in jazz, check out "UFO Tofo" by Bela Fleck and the Flecktones. That is not bluegrass though, its a bluegrass/jazz fusion thing.
Listening to the Jolida now. Sweet. The world is full of answers, some are right and some are wrong. - Neil Young -
Since I couldn't move to Lexington, I need to get myself some of these recommendations!Alea jacta est!

Check this one out, Jim is very eclectic, but this collobration with Ralph Stanley is excellent. They both enjoyed it so much that they did 2 albums together. Doesn't get more traditional then this.

The String Chhese Incident. If you've never heard them, you owe it to yourself to go and buy any of their cd's. They are really good!

Those guys aren't bluegrass; they are a jam-band... A damn good one too.
Bluegrass and roots rock are starting to overlap a bot. Head over to SubPop Records website (they've changed slot since the nineties) and check out Iron and Wine. Check out the whole label actually. You'll be surprised. Blitzen Trapper, Death Vessel, and a few other surprising Rootsrock/New Bluegrass bands are on there.
