ground loop? noise from only rear set?

I've got the mmc690's in the rear of my car right now, and i'm getting some hum from the rears only. it's odd, because i'm running those AND a pair of the mmc6500's in the front, off the same amp (c400) I don't get the noise out of the fronts. nor the sub. I am going through a ground loop isolator on the rears, which seems to dull it down a bit, but it's still there. My grounds are ok, and everything looks in order, i just can't track the source down! Anyone have any other ideas?

Try connecting a new set of RCA cables from your HU to amp. Just hang them over the seats for troubleshooting. Or try swapping F/R RCA's see if the problem moves to the front.

Len has a good point. I had a similar problem with my front, right speaker. I replaced drivers and such and nothing changed it. Then I pulled the head unit out and checked the RCA's and sure enough, the right channel's ground lead was pulling off of the collar. Swapped out cables and the noise went away.

You might also have it pinched somewhere. You don't need to break the insulation to cause signal interference. Electricity can be a funny thing some times.
