Has anyone tried using three center speakers for the front channels?

Is it a good idea to use center speakers, say three CSi3's, for the left/right/center channels?
Has anyone tried it?
Is there any imaging/soundstage in center speakers when used as left and right?

I suppose it would be seamless.
I think it will best represent mid to hi freq as stated in its specs:
Overall Frequency Response 55Hz-27kHz
(I would just have to set a good sub's xover to around 65Hz)

I dont mind the WAF, I can get away with it.
Maybe ill just wall mount it some ways.

Thanks!

Seemless you only need speakers being in the same family of tweets.

But if you got 3 centers why not try it you're going to hurt anything.

BTW would run a Sub or watch the bass I sent to the L / R channels as centers aren't really bass heavy speakers.

    So, it's just the tweeter.
I dont have the centers yet.
I plan to send the L/R to the sub before the center pair.

I hope somebody who has heard, or owns similar setup would butt in.

I tried my cs400i as a front speaker just out of curiosity when i got RT55i's. I found that the 400i just didn't sound right. I assumed it was something to do with the speakers dispersion characteristics. I think crossover points were different aswell to the 55i's.

Using three may be different, but was very noticeable using a 55i on one channel and the center on the other...
In terms of audio, i truly feel sorry for the visually impaired. How can they know what they like if they cant read google?

    AudioEngine,

That's seems like a pretty odd setup to me, but why not try it if you got them.

As far as my comment about tweets you asked about seemless, Tweets from the same speaker line are built to be have a seemless frontage sound stage.

BTW Sorry I didn't state it before Welcome to Club Polk.

Do it and tell me; when Fry's was having it's blow out on CSi3s and CS1/2s I was seriously considering the same thing (with CS1s); let me know how it works out for you!

For music, you only need two speakers up front.

I use full range or monitors for mains. Place your speakers at least a few inches to a foot forward of your tv and audio rack, you'll have plenty of imaging.
