Replacement SDA SRS II mids.....I wonder

Has anyone bought any of the replacement MWxxxx woofers and replaced the originals? If so, any sound quality difference that was noticeable? I know that they were built to be voiced the same and follow the same TS parameters but do you think that replacing my 20 year old original drivers with the "new" versions that there would be a sonic difference worth doing? A lot of us have replaced the older SLxxxx tweeters with the much improved (to most all of us, anyway) RD0 versions which I've done in 3 sets of SDA's.
Yeah...a lot of questions there but I've wondered about that for quite awhile now. Thoughts? Opinions?

I've replaced several of the original MW's with new drivers (1B's, Monitor 7's and CRS +'s); other than the normal break in, I didn't notice any difference. I would definitely not expect a sonic improvement, if that's all you're looking for._________________________________________________

My thoughts exactly. It was just one of those things I've pondered on for awhile.Richard? Who's your favorite Little Rascal? Alfalfa? Or is it........................Spanky?.................................Sinner.

I know I've read on here of someone who replaced all of the original drivers in his SDA's. I can't remember who it was, though. As you said, their thinking was that having what amounted to a new set of SDAs was a good bargain while the drivers are still available. New drivers and a crossover rebuild and you're at or above factory specs on 20 year old speakers.Ludicrous gibs!
