Listening to The Cars Greatest Hits a few times, the 2 I like the most are hits or they wouldn't be on the cd but they aren't their biggest hits I don't think.

1. Heartbeat city
2. I'm not the one

The same for Journey's Trial By Fire cd, 1996

1. Still she cries
2. When I think of you

About 95% of my favorite songs weren't hits. "Hits" were for the Top 40 fools who didn't know music from a hole in their ****. They just happened to be the 'poppiest' songs and got all of the air time. And were often times butchered like 'Light My Fire' and 'Time Has Come Today' (Chambers Bros.) were.
The best Cars songs? 'Moving in Stereo', 'All Mixed Up', 'Candy-O' and 'Night Spots'

"Stairway To Heaven" by a band named Led Zeppelin. Not a real popular song.
"Appreciation of audio is a completely subjective human experience. Measurements can provide a measure of insight, but are no substitute for human judgment. Why are we looking to reduce a subjective experience to objective criteria anyway? The subtleties of music and audio reproduction are for those who appreciate it. Keith Moon and John Entwistle of the Who once got fed up with Pete and Roger's antics and continual squabbling. They (K. and J.) were all set to form a band with a couple of their other buddies, but Entwistle finally decided that they'd go over "like a lead zeppelin". They decided not to form the group, but their two buddies found another drummer and bassist and decided to use the name anyway.

They put out a few albums and were never heard from again.

the only one I can think of, simply because most artists I like never had or will have a "hit" would be this one...

    http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ENaVHUJeVpc

they allways play the same stuff on the radio, I might listen to the radio if they actually played some stuff that wasn't on the charts.

    I have to admit .... that was Doro-Class funny ! :)

I love the song, "Shotdown" by April Wine.

It isn't on their "Best of .." CD. The CD "The Whole World's Gone Crazy" that has "Shotdown" goes for $500 on Ebay :( . d/l'd it (legal) on a paysite (at 320Kbps) and wound up with a crap recording ...... bought the vinyl TWWGC off of Ebay for $10, but I don't have a turntable.
So the album sits next to the computer desk.

Yep, things are going according to plan.

Is that based on the Edgar Rice Burroughs book?

I remember a Canadian power rock group called "Wireless" - had some great tight tracks that should have been hits (Sign Right Here).

This song should have been a hit. Some people joke about james brown on how he sings. Can't understand what he is saying. but this man have had a lot of hits he fall only second to Elvis Presley in hits.Thank God for the "good white people" that went to see his shows before he died. When james got old some blacks forsook him. Most white people don't realize all the hits he had most of them only know "I feel good" papa's got a brand new bag" or outa sight. Top 40 raido banned his music for the most part. they deem it too black for top 40 radio. As big as he was in the 60ties and 70ties he never became a mainstream artist like Elvis Presley or the Rolling stones. Very sad. Again thank God for the Good white people that supported james brown and went to his shows after the hits stop. Some black people forgot.

When james brown release the song "say it loud I'm black and I'm proud" some thought he was a racist or militant. but I Remember when I Was a kid(I'm 49) in 1968 if you call me black it was a fight. but when that song came out I became proud to be called black. You all who are reading this should be proud of your race or color. When "say it loud" was release to radio in "68" that was the End of any top 40 air play for Mr Brown. That's why he never became a big pop Icon like Elvis Did. Most musicians white or black Especially Mick Jagger of the Rolling stones Respect james brown highly to this day and gave a tribute to him not to long ago.Have you guys seem the tami show? a lot of great stars are on that show the beach boys the rolling stones. they closed the show after James brown.Go to YouTube and you will see how great he was.It was said that Mick Jagger was very nervous to follow James brown. If you listen to his early recordings you would be convince that he had a great voice and many great songs. Kiss in 77 was one of them. Thanks
