Any fans of progressive metal or the old school metal of the 80's should check out these guys. Ive mentioned them on here before after buying their Ghost Opera CD but after recently getting The Black Halo off Itunes I must say this is an excellent band.
Their not heavy enough to be Testament or Slayer and theyre not progressive enough to be Dream Theater but they are just enough of both to please fans of both.
Their lead singer, Roy Kahn, is IMO the best singer recording today! He reminds me of Geoff Tate (Queensryche) before they sucked (anything from Promised Land and before ruled!). Very expressive and smooth and no screaming, howling or growling.
If youre into this type of music you should definitely check these guys out.

Speaking of Promise Land, I played that CD a few weeks ago and was literally amazed at how good it is. It had been years since I listened to it, and while I enjoyed it in the past, I feel that it is an album that really gets over looked. And was literally the height of Queensryche.
BTW- Thanks for the heads up on Kamelot, I trust your musical taste and will check them out.
