Has anyone taken their SDA's outside?

In around 1980 when my friends were in the R&D process of making the IMX <does what SDA does at line level> we took the Spendor BC-1's outside and set them up for the equilateral triangle in his big back yard. It was wonderful! Of course there was less bass. Anyone temporarily tried an outdoor setup? Also I've camped out and put home speakers on 55 gallon barrels sideways (an old set of Ezekiel metal cone) and there was a campfire between listening position and speakers. As large flames would rise the sound seemed to be "thrown" by the flames heating/changing the air. Very cool affect! I know it sounds weird, you'll have to try it and see for yourself.

I was going to do that, but after much research I found what I was doing Carver did before Polk ;) Lawsuit, and settled out of court.

Please. Please contact me a ben62670 @ yahoo.com. Make sure to include who you are, and you are from Polk so I don't delete your email. Also I am now physically unable to work on any projects. If you need help let these guys know. There are many people who will help if you let them know where you are.

I knew there was a chance this thread would go "this way". OK, have your fun. As to the Carver/lawsuit thing the company behind the IMX got its patents before Carver and Polk. They licensed it to Radio Shack who put it in some of their EQ's as well.

yes, i wouldn't lie...........I' ll get my friend to post a picture of the one i gave him. Here is a link to a picture of one of the RS EQ's with the IMX built in. There's an on/off for the affect, a gain control<gain of the affect> and a readout. The readout lights up more when the recording has a big image and has no lighting if mono. You can see by searching EQ there are many on eBay and you can get one cheap. Often they don't even mention the built in IMX. You can bypass the EQ and just use the IMX.
