Right place, right time fellas. :D Pretty excited to see how this will work with the Outlaw 950 I got last week. It's my first time trying seperates so I am anxious to see the difference between this new set-up and my Sony STR-DA5ES AVR.

It sure can, and it sounds very good. Shawn, compared to a Sony STR...you're in for a treat, good purchase.

I hope so. I have been itching to get into seperates but have hesutated due to the fact that the Sony DA5ES sounded so good. I ven bought the Denon from Doro thinking it would replace the Sony. The Denon is a damn nice AVR, but I liked the Sony better and kept it in the primary rig. I got a deal on an Outlaw 950 in GREAT condition for $200 shipped  and couldn't resist the temptation to get into seperates. Then I found the B&K by luck and can't wait to get it. It might take a learning curve for me to operate things properly, but I am up for it!

Well a couple of you have asked to report back when I got it set-up. I received it well packaged and in great condition from MKZ yesterday. I spent the better part of the evening rearranging the rack and rerouting cables. I watched a demo disc that I have and was impressed. Today, I was off from work so I spent some time calibrating the rig and watching a movie. Needless to say, I was pleaseantly surprised by the difference. I never know if this is wishful thinking after a purchase, but I am very happy with the change. It seems that the separation of the channels is much more pronounced with a more defined sound if that makes sense. This is it for awhile!!!!!!;)

Now, will somebody buy my Sony please!?!?!?!?!?!:D

Glad to hear that Shawn, I bought this per Sami's recommendation and it was an upgrade from Adcom 5500, 5400. Now, time to try some ICs. It is sensitive enough for each and every ICs. I have good luck with SignalCable Silver Resolution, AudioQuest Black Mamba, DiamondBacks and Kimber PBJ with locking RCA. Enjoy!!!

I am on the fence as to whether the IC's would make a big difference for me. I use the monoprice ones which seem very well constructed. But, moreso, I am hesitant because of the fact that I am running a setellite speaker system. There are no floorstanders or "full range" speakers in my system. Do you think it would make a difference (a NOTICABLE difference)?

I will take this to another thread if mods would like.

Also, I am not here to get into a "cables don't make a difference" debate. Just would like to know if anyone has an opinion whether or not my particualr system could benefit at all.

It depends on your speakers. I see the difference on LSi/RTi bookshelf speakers.
Never hurt to try some used cables. You could resell it about the same price.

You could try these great cables from great sellers if those are not sold yet here:
