Hey, ganzo... Thanks! I saw in a recent post that you used proper punctuation and everything. I'm not being sarcastic... I really do appreciate the effort!

Mine is to stop being quite so anal about spelling and punctuation :-)

That, and buy more vintage speakers! I *drool* at Sansui on eBay... unfortunately they are out of my price range by a decimal place or two :-)

    Sansui?

**** brotha, a few months ago, I could have hooked you up on that.

Look for some Pioneer CS-77,88,99 series. Similar but better build and (I think) better sound.

I have heard vintage Sansui speakers, and they simply blow one away... Although the amp that was driving them wasn't high-quality, so the sound had no real musical quality. As for those Pioneers... I just looked up CS-77 and CS-99... the 99s were at $100 and not yet over the reserve... the -77s were lower, but I just don't have the money this instant for more speakers. Plus my dad would prolly kill me :-). I got my Polk 5jr speakers for $15... 'course I had to put $60 in 'em for replacement tweeters, but oh well... I also put $100 in my MA-3dx speakers for new woofers. So far, I've put enough money in my system to last me at least a little while longer :-). However, by the end of the year, I would like something a little better. I'll keep my eye on those Pioneers, though... they'd compliment my SX-450 receiver nicely. THanks for the heads-up.

What ever happened to Sansui? They were always a big player back in my younger days and made some reall good stuff. Did they get absorbed in a corporate takeover or did they just go out of business. I may do an internet search but I was just wondering if anyone knew where they went.

They are still in business, but I don't think sell much in the US anymore.

As far as the speaks, I had XP-6700's ( I think ) High Cool factor. Mid forward like a ****.

Failure? Would money in this *REALLY* be considered a failure? :)

Personally, I'm going to blow the bank with a big ol amp and a new receiver..........
