Hello, I am new to this site and I have a few questions.
1. Would I benifit from Bi-wireing and if so could anyone show me a diagram on how to do it?
2. Could I use the Polk30 speakers as surround speakers?
3. What speaker cable does anyone suggest?
Thanx for any help anyone has to offer.

Personally, IMO, I think bi-wiring offers little (if any) benefit. Now, if you were bi-amping as well--different story potentially.
Give it shot if you want. Just remove the "jumpers" on your speaker terminals, then connect 2 sets of speaker wire.Source: Bluesound Node 2i - Preamp/DAC: Benchmark DAC2 DX - Amp: Parasound Halo A21 - Speakers: MartinLogan Motion 60XTi - Shop Rig: Yamaha A-S501 Integrated - Shop Spkrs: Elac Debut 2.0 B5.2 -
Hello,
I'm going to be setting up a home theater system plus I wanted to play my music collection that spans from Rock to country, you name it.
My receiver is a Denon 4308CI, the room is about 18 x 12, I wanted two main floor standing speakers, surrounds for the walls and a center that sits on top of my 52" LCD.
My budget is no more then $3000-4000 or around there. I was thinking about Rti12,10, 9 or 8. Should I be looking at Lsi15's
Thanks for any tips or suggestions:) -
You'd have to put an ear on them. Speaker choices are highly subjective. Keep in mind though, the Lsi's need a very robust amplifier section as they dip into 4 ohms...Source: Bluesound Node 2i - Preamp/DAC: Benchmark DAC2 DX - Amp: Parasound Halo A21 - Speakers: MartinLogan Motion 60XTi - Shop Rig: Yamaha A-S501 Integrated - Shop Spkrs: Elac Debut 2.0 B5.2

I have seen bi-wiring work, and I have seen it make no difference. I would start with making a pair of jumpers to replace the brass ones out of speaker wire and see if that makes a difference first. If you are unsatisfied with that, then I would move to bi-wires. The easiest way to make them is take two sets of speaker wire, connect them on the amplifier end so they feed a single set of binding posts, then connect the free ends to the dual set of posts on the speaker side.PioneerElite wrote: »2. Sure! They would match your Monitor 40s well. Would you be using them for 7.1, because I see you already have f/x surrounds which are great speakers.PioneerElite wrote: »3. What speaker cable does anyone suggest?
I prefer my speaker cables, but I might be biased. If you want cheap and quality, order a roll of 12g stuff from monoprice and you will be set. And welcome! -
I'm going to start by calling you a thread-jacker, but welcome anyway.I'm going to be setting up a home theater system plus I wanted to play my music collection that spans from Rock to country, you name it.

I would not suggest LSis with a receiver as mentioned before because they are quiet a load on an amp. A full Rti set-up would sound really good, and should be powered fine with your Denon. I would go with the 12s up front since you will be listening to music, and then whatever Rtis you want to use with that as they won't really matter (The important thing is that they are all Rti). -
Sorry about posting my question in the wrong place, I'm new here and thought I was starting my own NEW thread, sorry to the original poster.
Thanks for the input as to the Rti12's
