Totem Acoustics Mite - Bookshelf Loudspeakers - Blask Ash - 9/10 - *SOLD* to Pacificoastbear

I was looking for these speakers for ages....well, the right deal at least. I finally found them but now that I'm running Quad 12L for my computer rig, there's no place to use them. They are covered in real wood veneer, specifically Black Ash. Everything about this speaker is top notch and even tho' its the smallest of the bunch, there's no compromise in how its built. Check out the information from the link above here.

The only downside is that I thought I took a picture of them before I prepped them for shipment....but I didn't. The only picture I can offer is of them wrapped up and ready to be boxed. They are in mint condition and have zero flaws. I'll include a stock photo for your head.

Absolutely, one of my top 5 bookshelf speakers historically. Here's some Totem stuff:

Usable in two-channel music systems and in home theatre systems
Lock mitre cabinet joints.
Twin pairs of solid gold-plated binding posts
No-compromise drivers, wiring and crossover parts
Dimensions: h 270 x w 152 x d 227 mm (11 x 6 x 8.5" approx.)
Volume: 5.6 litres (internal)
Weight: 4 kg (9 lbs approx.)
Crossover frequency: 3.2 kHz electrical and mechanical
Impedance: 8 ohms
Frequency response: 50 Hz to 20 kHz ±3 dB with correct positioning
Sensitivity: 87 dB/W/m. Maximum SPL 102 dB before dynamic compression
Maximum power: 80 watts

The binders were wiped down with CAIG Pro-Gold and the factory packaging will be augmented to withstand an atomic blast.

Includes: Original everything.

S574MT
CTC BBQ Amplifier, Sonic Frontiers Line3 Pre-Amplifier and Wadia 581 SACD player. Speakers? Always changing but for now, Mission Argonauts I picked up for $50 bucks, mint.

Damnit Mark. I just bought a pair of MMGs and now you are selling Mites for $450! Can you please just put me on your instant PM list. Did you get a chance to listen to them? My Dad has bad hearing, but he loves music so I set a pair of these up for him for close listening sessions. They have an orgasmic classic Totem sound.

What did you use to drive them?

    Great speakers, Mark!

These would make a great second or third rig. . . maybe in a bedroom or something.

Someone should definitely grab these and make a third rig in the bedroom. I have an 800 sq foot apartment and three rigs. . . why shouldn't you?!?

Anything made by Totem is just classic speaker. The wood finish is gorgeous and the sound is just silky smooth.

Am I correct in thinking that all totems only come naked? I want to upgrade my smallest rig in the kitchen and these speakers are about as big as I could possibly go, but there's no way I'm pulling waf with no covers.

Grills are available for all Totem speakers. I don't believe they cost much at all either.

You folks are silly and thanks for the kind words :)

Solid - Yea, I heard them before but I did renew my brain on them for a couple days. I ran them on my CTC/Audio Research rig.

Jawhog - I can't speak for all of them but these are sans grills. They very cute, you're wife will love them.

They also make a trick wall bracket that uses the existing frame for mounting. That way you're not drilling into them or marring the finish with clamps. Just a thought.

WAF should never even be an issue with any of Totem's wares. The grills actually make them look worse.

My wife's idea of the perfect speakers are headphones. I just used up a bunch of WAF quota when I ditched our RM7500's for RTI10's and a CSi5. I'm not sure the fallout cloud has settled yet. These look REALLY nice though.

I'd say you should still take the Jello Wrestlemania with Darla and only as a poor second alternative accept cash.

pacificoastbear, now why ya' gotta mess up a perfectly good thing like a guy in designer diapers Jello wrestling Wingnut? Just to buy a pair of speakers? You know how many fantasies you just wiped out with one audio purchase?

Sheesh.....what are we gonna do with you?

I say we take up a collection (cover charge) and give the speakers to Darla (after the wrasllin' match) since she is so willing to accept (defeat Mark) our offerings to such a nice lady. ( I call dibs on the concessions)

I looked at these a little while back and was discouraged by the color. I wanted mahogany or a natural wood tone. If Pacific doesn't but these, put me in line. I'll take em' for sure. My finger is on the payment button NOW!

    Guys, two things I've noticed.

    1. Jello Wrestling is an offer. And, albeit a very tempting one, offers are strictly prohibited in the Flea Market.

    B. We might be scaring Pacificoastbear, who seems like a nice enough guy. Maybe we should thank him for taking these off the market so we don't feel the urge to purchase them ourselves.

    Thanks, PCB!
