LSiC in front of TV
I cannot put my LSiC on top of the tv (57" Hitachi CRT rear projection) since the the top is sloped to the rear. So, I have it on a stand in front of the TV. This works out well since I can move it up or down to be at the bottom of the picture for either 16x9, or widescreen ratios.
However, since the TV is solid from the floor to the top of the screen, I am wondering if the LSiC should be away from the TV some amount since there are ports in the rear of the speaker. The manual says nothing of this placement issue.
Any general idea as to what amount, if any, the LSiC should be away from a solid object?

They have a black one of these. I used it for the LSiC above my Hitachi rear projection and it worked great. Well worth consideration if you have not seen it yet.
Other than that - you can move the LSiC as far back as you want. If you do not have it at least a few inches away, the bass may get a little boomy, but it won't damage anything.Mains.............Polk LSi15 (Cherry)
Center............Polk LSiC (Crossover upgraded)
Surrounds.......Polk LSi7 (Gloss Black - wood sides removed and crossovers upgraded)
Subwoofers.....SVS 25-31 CS+ and PC+ (both 20hz tune)
Pre\Pro...........NAD T163 (Modded with LM4562 opamps)
Amplifier.........Cinepro 3k6 (6-channel, 500wpc@4ohms)
