Any other MMA fans here? I'm pretty excited to see this debut fight card. I really wish Fedor signed with the UFC to fight Couture, but I have a feeling Affliction is on it's way to be the new #1. It has a lot of high rollers backing it (Trump for one) and they are getting some really good fighters on contracts. Can't wait to see how this pans out.

I will be watching this fight and putting the UFC counter act on the ol' DVR.

That picture of Fedor on the linked site makes him look like Butterbean.

I wouldn't recommend saying that you say that to his face, though.

On second thought, yes I would recommend that you say that to his face.

And Vitor looks very out of shape. Good to see him back on major event.

affliction is looking good, but has a waays to go before reaching the depth of UFC, especially since they got most of Pride's talent.

If Fedor sucks, affliction will have an even bigger uphill climb

that said, I definitly want to see the Silvia/Fedor fight. when is it again?

If Fedor sucks? Against a can like Sylvia? Highly unlikely.

Affliction is putting up some huge fight $ which will draw the attention of alot more fighters so it will be interesting to see how they pan out.

There are so many leagues right now it's kind of spreading the fighters thin talent wise. It would be nice to have only 1 or 2 leagues with all the big names.

Ohskigod, the fight is this Saturday the 19th.

Well, most of the leagues are like WEC. They have some fighters that might do well in UFC or Pride, but most would be just beating bags.

I bought the pay-per-view last night and DVR'ed the UFC. Affliction needs to learn how to put on a show! MEGADETH!?!?!? Those guys are about 15 years past their genre and prime!! A dark arena, the crowd wasn't into it, ridiculous amount of monotonous videos before the card started, etc. There were a couple good fights, but was very boring for the most part. Arlovski looks to have regained the form that made him UFC champ and Fedor showed the worls that he is the baddest man on the planet. I think Sylvia is a tomato can (wouldn't say that to his face), but he dismantled him in less than 40 seconds. Emilianenko throws some heavy hands and is a big dude with countless submissions. Silva opened one of the nastiest cuts I have ever seen on Irvin. I don't think anyone can argue he is in the top 3 in the world.

I wish somebody would put up the money to have Fedor fight that scrub Kimbo Slice. Kimbo wouldn't last 30 seconds with Fedor.

I went to the airshow and got stuck there so I missed out on the Affliction PPV. I watched the UFC fight card since it didn't come on my comcast until 9pm (so much for live on the westcoast, thanks Comcast!)

Fedor is the man. I really wish he could of faught Couture when he was a little younger and I'd still like to see it now, but it will never happen probably.

The full list of Affliction salaries included:

Fedor Emelianenko: $300,000 (no win bonus)
    def. Tim Sylvia: $800,000

Andrei Arlovski: $750,000 (includes $250,000 win bonus)
    def. Ben Rothell: $250,000

Josh Barnett: $300,000 (no win bonus)
    def. Pedro Rizzo: $70,000

Mark Hominick: $10,000 (includes $5,000 win bonus)
    def. Savant Young: $7,000

Renato "Babalu" Sobral: $90,000 (includes $30,000 win bonus)
    def: Mike Whitehead: $50,000

Matt Lindland: $300,000 (includes $75,000 win bonus)
    def. Fabio Nascimento: $20,00O

Antonio Rogerio Nogueira: $50,000 (no win bonus)
    def. Edwin Dewees: $15,000

Mike Pyle: $20,000 (includes $5,000 win bonus)
    JJ Ambrose: $5,000

    Ray Lizama: $3,000
    vs. Justin Levens: $6000*

Vitor Belfort: $140,000 (includes $70,000 win bonus)
    Terry Martin: $30,000

Paul Buentello: $80,000 (includes $20,000 win bonus)
    vs. Gary Goodridge: $25,000

    * - Fight postponed due to time constraints. Both fighters paid negotiated salaries.
