LSiFX Placement

Is it possible to place these speakers TOO-HIGH above ear level.
My sitting height is just over 1 ft. off the ground, I am looking at placing them 6 ft. off the ground, and the room has 8 ft. ceilings. Speaker stands are an option for these only if I want one of them knocked over in about a week's time.

I'm wondering if 6 ft. is too high and the sound will get "lost" up near the ceiling.
I don't own the speakers yet, so I cannot experiment...but I'm sure someone has...please advise.

Nope, that's fine. Mine are above 6ft and do not disrupt the soundstage.

Thanks for the info. I have a couple of ideas of how to do this, problem is one side of the listening area does not have a wall. I'm actually thinking of suspending it on a custom made shelf from the ceiling. I am assuming you want it pointed straight fwd at 90 degree angle from the floor and not "aimed" at your listening area.

Also, are you using 12 AWG wire for yours....would 10 AWG be overkill (the price diff. per foot is not that much). Thanks again...

Correct. Just mount them flat and I use 10AWG by choice but it's not neccesary to do so. I'll snap a couple photos later as I need to update my showcase pictures anyhow. Thanks for motivating me :D

I'm using my F/x's for 6 and 7 channel, and Lsi 7's for the 4 and 5 channel. The F/x's are mounted on the wall behind the couch about 5.5 ft above my head.
I haven't had any problems with the height and sound coming "down", but I have never been able to settle for one setting, meaning the di-pole or bi-pole. I go back and forth with different movies, depending on my mood.
I'm curious what others are using.
