Omfg!

Guys I finally watched the movie "Sick House" and I had the little system at normal listening setting (-30) and there is a scene where one of the punk kids (Shawn or Steve) puts his hands on one of the brick walls and OMFG, I thought my PB12+2 was Phucked up. I had my SMS-1's volume set on 23 which is only a little bit over the factory setting of 18 and when she started pounding I seen the draw on that outlet hit 10.5 Amps. Its only on a 15A circuit. Is there a equation that I can use to find out how much power the amp on the sub was putting out with that kinda load.
The sub never bottomed out but it had to be damn close. Needless to say After I was like (Oh ****) I turned the volume on the SMS-1 down to 18 again.
The gain on the sub amp is set at just a little over the first notch so its not turned up hardly at all. Also i have two ports plugged off and set to 16hrtz.

One more thing what do most of you guys that have the PB12+2 run the gain on the amp at?

Watts = Amps X Volts.....................if you are getting 120 volts, your system was pulling 1260 watts during that peak.

Of course, this doesn't account for the loss of wattage due to heat, loss of efficiency, etc. just the amount of load in watts passing to your gear. Your electronics can't convert all that wattage into power due to those losses.

Now I'm gonna have to rent that video and watch it. I love lots of low bass action. I don't have an answer for your question, but I'm curious how you like the SMS-1. From what I've read on-line it seems very useful and the idea of having cleaner bass is something I'm interested in. A quick check on the 'gon shows they cost around $500. Give me your opinion about it.

theres a thread on the SMS-1. A few more of us have them, especially useful with dual sub setups also. I highly recommend one, they seem to maxmize sub performance. I'll have to check that video out, should be insane with two of those PB12+2s going at it.

I know i lost all the booomy bass and people not in the know would probley say where did all your bass go. But its much more blended and clean sounding. I can still shake the hole house if i want but it happenes when its supose to happen insted off just pure caose. and no i did not spell check this

I know why that didn't sound right (My .A draw) the Plasma pulls 2.2A alone. Also that outlet shows 121V to 125V. So at the time it showed 125V X (lets say) 8.5A = 1062.5W +/- what ever the heat loss.
Also if the Bash plate amp is 900W RMS dose that mean it (In theory) should do 1800W max?
One more question Would it be better to turn the SMS-1 down and the gain up or just leave it alone. I never could get a flat sub response (Bad room placement but it was ether where it is now or on the same side of the room but right beside the listening position.

I luv my SMS-1 I just now wish I would have not got the SVS PB12+2 due to not needing the PEQ with having the SMS-1. I wish I would have bought 2 of the PB12-NSD/2 for a few more $$ and had Dueling SVS'S.
But to let you know also I bought my SMS-1 off eBay for $425 shipped NIB from a Velodyne dealer and I got a full warranty. If you want I can try and find the guy that I bought it from and PM it to you.

Guy I know that this was not the right place for Movie recommendations, but I Highly recommend that movie. It will give any sub a good work out.

Thanks, but I'm seriously considering buying the used one in the Flea market.
