3 mini to digital coax??

Alright, I have my sound system hooked up and I wanted to hook it to my computer. This should be a relatively simple, especially for me. I have two soundcards but the problem is none of them support Dolby Digital encoding, meaning that I will only get 2 channel sound, unless I am playing a movie that is already encoded, then the spdif acts as a passthrough.

I could buy a new soundcard, however, the only two I would consider are the X-fi Prelude and the ASUS XOnar. both are just shy of $200.

I think this will be eventually what I do, however, I do not wish to do this at the moment, and I would have to order the card anyhow. Has anyone ever seen a 3 mini to digital coax converter? My soundcards support 7.1, but it would take three or four mini jacks to accomplish this, and for some reason preamps dont seem to have this. Is there any way to do this, or is there simply a problem in converting analog to digital?

Edit: My amp has "8 channel input", I could use mini to rca coverters, but hte problem is there is one for center/sub one for l/r ones for surround r/surround left instead of one for each of the speakers... any ideas?
