Another great $2.00 find actually every CD at this thrift is $2..have bought at least 150 in the past 6 months..if you really want to hear guitar and vocals at their best listen to Hawaiian slack key...it will really shine through on a good system....fantastic detail...and it puts a smile on your face

You know, when you mentioned "Hawaiian slack key", I had no clue as to you were talking about.
I thought it was some kind of Don Ho thing ..... I was wrong.

Looks like some of the key players in Hawaiian slack key are Gabby Pahinui, Leonard Kwan, Sonny Chillingworth, Raymond Kāne, and the more modern styles of younger-generation players such as Keola Beamer, his brother Kapono Beamer, Peter Moon, and Haunani Apoliona.

Got to see Maunaloa live a few weekends ago. Love their sound too. Kinda funny as I've lived here all my life and never really listen to the more "traditional" hawaiian music. I've listen to all the newer "island music" and Jawaiian(Hawaiian style reggae) stuff.
