Got roughly $700 for a new receiver must have HDMI 1080p

Just sold my avr-3802. I need to buy a new receiver TODAY!

The TX-SR805 was so so, maybe because when I purchased my last one, one of the channel already blew out of the box. I never really got the chance to fully listen to it. I was discouraged and returned it instead of exchanging it.

Anything else I should be considering or give the 805 a 2nd chance?

There are a few Yamaha's in you price range that may have the specs your looking for ( I haven't look at the Yammy's lately) But I think it would be hard to beat the 805 in your price range.

Sorry about the 805 issue, but I would go back for the money.

Check out HK direct on Ebay. You can get a refurb much cheaper than buying new. Ihad a 245 that was very nice. Don't pay too much attention to the HK watt rating as they are way under rated. HK 50 watts is more like 100 watts from most other receivers.

I had the avr-745 but had to sell because I couldn't do 1080p on it it's HDMI 1.1

i need something with hdmi 1.3 and I don't see any of the new HK line offer this.

Another vote for a 2nd go around at the 805. By far the best bang for the buck... If you want something else, you should start saving some more money. The next option I'd recommend is the 2808ci for $1000. Perhaps you could find it a little cheaper online somewhere?
