Center speaker...CS1 or?

Hey there,

I recently purchased a house, and got my surround setup again. This setup was what I used when I was in college 4 years ago, and the last two years it has been used as my computer speakers.

I have Polk R50 fronts, a Dayton 10" sub. Onkyo SR520, and an onkyo center speaker from my HTS550 HTIB that i originally had.

I know the center speaker needs an upgrade -- however I also know I'll want to upgrade the R50's eventually. I love the R50's, they're great for what they are...but I'd like more clarity out of them. So rather than upgrade my center to something to match the R50's i have now, I think I may be better off getting a higher end center, to match a higher end polk front in the future.

Any suggestions on what to look for? Or is it not a good idea?

Thanks!

Ideally you want the center to match the fronts, so I'd probably recommend that you wait on your center purchase until you know which speakers you'll be upgrading to.

For the price of some of these centers now....if you can find a csi3 or csi5 for under 150...go for it...it will make the 50's sound fresh for quite some time!

yeah I know that'd be a perfect world...but i could then upgrade the fronts to match my center ;)

Where is a good place to buy speakers online? Been out of the audio scene for a few years.
