Just wondering if anyone on here has picked up on of the new NAD receivers? The top of the line one is the T785. I'm not clear on whether they decode the new DTS HD or other lossless audio formats. Just curious. The T785 is a beast on costs $2500!

That sure is one hell of a beast!!! At present they do not decode dtsHD or Dolby trueHD...let the player do that via 5.1 inputs. NAD says that when the new formats become more previlent that it will be an easy upgrade via there module design. By it's new design it looks bretty much future proof.
I was looking at that bad boy until I found out that my T773 can be used strictly as a power amp via it's main in's. I think your T763 can do the same thing. What a great feature that most other avr's can't do.
Now I have my eyes on the T175 surround sound preamp since I already have an external two channel amp for my mains & a monoblock for my center. Now the T773 only has to power the surrounds & down the road the back surrounds. Hell, I can even use it as a 7 channel amp if I wanted to.
By using the main in's, the preamp section with volumn control & all the processing is completely cut off. Now you use it like any other external amp.
Way cool & what a great design!"2 Channel & 11.2 HT "Two Channel:Magnepan LRSSchiit Audio Freya S - SS preConsonance Ref 50 - Tube preParasound HALO A21+ 2 channel ampBluesound NODE 2i streameriFi NEO iDSD DAC Oppo BDP-93KEF KC62 sub Home Theater:Full blown 11.2 set up. -
Oops, my bad! When I said to let the BlueRay player do the decoding thru there 5.1 analog inputs (make sure the player has them) I was referring to myself keeping the T773 & if you go the same route that you would do the same thing. All the new NAD avr's have plenty of HDMI connections so you don't have to use the 5.1 analog inputs."2 Channel & 11.2 HT "Two Channel:Magnepan LRSSchiit Audio Freya S - SS preConsonance Ref 50 - Tube preParasound HALO A21+ 2 channel ampBluesound NODE 2i streameriFi NEO iDSD DAC Oppo BDP-93KEF KC62 sub Home Theater:Full blown 11.2 set up.
