endlessly outbid Polk eBay Store

Was tempted to title this: "which one of you _____ s (fill in the blank)" is bidding against me" but thought better...

anyway, between typing in a bid and submitting - someone is consitently outbidding...

Should I assume the rest of the world is using automated bidding software?
(in which case I give)

Oh well so much for RTi6's for my BR...

behind the times, xandra

Not sure how you're going to take this, but the way I see it is that someone is willing to pay more than you are, regardless of the method they are using. ;)

It sounds like you are describing proxy bidding...which is kinda a foundation of how ebay works. If this is the case then yes give up, as your willingness to pay is lower than average.

Finally - caught on (embarassed to say didn't realize could place max bid, without guaranteed payment of that amount)

Anyway: GOOD NEWS: I won 'em. (had bid $12 over nearest offer).
Soon to come: MUSIC in BR...almost heaven.

BINGO...second accounts..friends...third accounts....etc.....its why I never get into a bidding war when the other bidder has a very low number if any feedback....very hard to if not impossible to police against that

Auctions are not designed to bring bargains to buyers. They are designed to squeeze the last possible dollar out of the buyer. If you are not willing to pay MORE then the absolute HIGHEST price another buyer is willing to pay, you lose.

I'm unclear on what part you don't understand about how an auction works. If you really want to win an auction, you need to bid more than what you feel any other interested party on the planet is going to bid.

Who the hell is Mark Polk? Randyme, contact me offline, I'll see if I can help rgates@polkaudio.com . A lot of product moves through eBay, nothing gets shipped out damaged, look at the feedback, take a breath, and calm down. If there is an issue, we will get it resolved.

I use eSnipe.com, put my max bid in and walk away as it places the bid in the last few seconds for a 1% fee.
I need to use this to keep my ego out of the bidding which caused me to bid more than I wished to.

Ok Idk if this is any help, but if your buying anything from the polk ebay store, just call them up, they should even give u a better deal then what the ebay price is. I FINALLY won an auction on ebay for a pair of tsi500's and decided to call them up to pay for it instead of using paypal. I was actually able to get them to drop the price 20 bucks more then what I wont the auction for.

    Great customer service from polk
