I just got a new house and unfortunately the living room is not exactly an audiophiles dream. The small wall and door ruin everything , I have to put the tv and mains on the small wall that the door handle hits when opened fully and the wall being so small the door would smash into the right rti6 and the left would be hanging out in the hall if i move the whole thing over, sooo either i squish them all together to make them fit oooorrr y'all tell me some good news and inform me that there are in walls that are just as good sounding as rti6's and would be matched with my entire rti series setup!! Crosses fingers for the latter but sad because the look of the 6's on the stands in awesome...

are you within limited space if you were to opt for the smaller rti4. that maybe an option, though i have only heard polk inwalls in a frys, they did sound great. worth a shot to go try listening to them at least. I think best buy may even carry polk in walls also.

    Jerry,
I had similar concern on my family room setup - the only wall that would 'work' was a short 8ft wall.

I ended up wall mounting a pair of RTI4s as my mains with the 50" plasma 'sandwiched' inbetween.

It actually worked out really well for the given constraints! :)

Here's a pic of my 8ft entertainment wall:

Just tossing out some ideas for you...

    Good luck,
    Erik

    Thanks.

    It's a crummy picture.

The whole house was repainted and the new earth tone color in the family room really compliments the black finishes on the HT setuip.

It looks really nice now - to match the really nice sound! :D

I may try to get some better shots this weekend.

That would be cool. How did you hide all of the wires?

    I paid a professional! :p

The layout was completely my design from all the equipment selected and bought by me, layout with locations and dimensions all done up on my computer, then I contracted out for a HT installer to install everything.

I'm an engineer - so I wanted everything done to 'spec'. ;)

The wires run behind the drywall for the speakers and plasma to the AVR.

The surround wires go thru crown-molding from the front wall along the side walls and to the rears which are ceiling mounted and fire down to the listening spot.

    Sorry for the highjacking....

I had to go with in-walls in my family room. I used the TC-265s with excellent results.
