When I left this morning, everything was just fine and dandy at the house. Fast-forward to lunchtime... I walk in the door to find on of my SDA2's knocked over, laying on its face. Unfortunately, both cats greeted me at the door, with no apparent injuries.

How in the hell did they do that? Little ****.

The speaker appears to be okay. One of the tweeters pulled out a bit at one corner, so that screw hole is pretty much stripped out. But all the drivers still play well, including the two original mids, which I was expecting to find locked up. Apparently since it hit flat on it's face, they just absorbed the impact. If it happens again... the cats are gone.

thats cats man, you knew the deal! :p

my cats have had moments making me want to kill them, knocking over an sda though, **** man, something REALLY wierd must have hapenned.

take solace you will never have to worry about mice and rats and stuff, I do. I got 4 cats and never had any wierd issues with mice and whatnot. a mouse would have to be nuts to come into my house with 4 cats. they smell cats LONG before they get to your house.

now, when 2 of my cats caused 3-400 dollars in damage to my Carver Platinums, yes, I wanted to strangle the little f%^kers.

cat ownership has its ups and downs. it just is what it is....you just had a down. roll with it ;)

My cat broke one of my nice shot glasses cause i left it on the counter......at first i thought it was an accident, but the next day i left a plastic one on the middle of the counter and as soon as i walked out the kitchen the little punk just knocked it off with his paw! Cats are weird!

Mine knocked one of my surrounds over once but no damage. Hasn't bothered it since, probably scared the crap outta him. Now the yellow labs tail is a disaster waiting to happen.

The cats really aren't that big... which is why I can't understand how they knocked a freakin' SDA2 over! My guess is that one of them was napping on the window sill behind the speaker, and the other attacked it and they started fighting, somehow knocking it over. Beats me, but I might have to install a camera to watch my gear!

Maybe this would be a good reason to fashion a "bass brace" for the 2's? I don't think they really need it, and I hate to tie them to one spot, but it certainly would prevent this from occurring again.

Make sure you have something fairly large on each speaker like a bowl, vase or even a big box of kleenex. My cat doesn't seem to jump on anything that doesn't have a nice runway to land on :D

There was a picture sitting on top of this speaker, which ended up flung halfway across the room. They've knocked just the picture over on a few occasions, so apparently it isn't much of a deterrant...

try this too...you can get it at home depot. the spikes gets in between cats paws, and it will make them think twice before jumping on something

I had a problem with one of my cats that would get on the counters, knock **** off, **** on the floor, was psychotic, chased the other cats, etc. I spent $400 on him in the last year and had finally had enough of it one day when I got home and the "test cup" on the kitchen counter was knocked over. Opened the door, he went outside, problems all resolved themselves. The other cats were smart enough to learn what not do do in the 5 to 10 years I've had them. Since then, nothing has been broken, knocked off, pooped on, etc, etc in the last few weeks of his absence. I hated that little **** since last July when I "rescued" him plus I heard numerous times that orange tabby cats are psychotic little devil monsters.

    Well, it's obvious what happened.

While you were gone, a burglar broke in, started to lug one of your SDA's towards the door and, while ignoring their own personal safety, your cats threw themselves into harms way in order to scare off the bad guy and save your SDA's !!

And what thanks do they get ?!
