Hancock

Went to see this tonight and it wasnt that bad.

Wil Smith did his usual excellent job playing Hancock and Charlise Theron was her usual smoking hot self.

The story was decent. Not anything ground breaking but it held together. Got kinda weird toward the last 1/3 of the movie but still held together.

The special effects actually werent all that spectacular. Not cheesy or cheap but not what I expected. The action scenes were above average but nothing really to make you stand up and cheer.

Id say its worth seeing but I wouldnt pay full admission price to see it. Id say either catch it at the $1 theater or wait til it hits rental. I wouldnt buy it but if it came on HBO and there wasnt anything else on Id watch it. But if I never see it again, thats ok too.

I dont want to give the impression it sucked, it didnt by any means. Its just that it really didnt excel anywhere. It was just a little better than average but it was better than average throughout the whole movie.

We saw it today and liked it alot. It's not going to win any oscars or anything, but we found it entertaining and I'd pay to go see it again.

Is there anything Will Smith CAN'T do? Looking back on his career (even though he's not that old) which includes TV, 80s rap, a resurgence on the music scene in the 90s, and then a string of blockbusters, one must conclude that the guy is pretty phenomenal. The consummate entertainer.

Will Smith plays Will Smith in every movie, the guy is like Keanu Reeves, horrible actor that somehow makes millions.

A buddy of mine said the same thing. I think he's a pretty damn good actor actually. He's been nominated twice for an Oscar for whatever thats worth.

Not worth much, not much at all, the last thing the Oscar's are based on it actual acting talent. The guy has done nothing outstanding, he's acting is the same movie after movie.

Watched it tonight. Both my wife and I liked it. The OP pretty much described the flick well. I thought it was a good story and moderately entertaining. I'll give it three out of five smelly fingers.

Saw it this afternoon too. It's entertaining, good acting, hot theron. Although re-watch (for collection) value is low, so more of a rental flick.
I am sorry, I have no opinion on the matter. I am sure you do. So, don't mind me, I just want to talk audio and pie.

I just finally watched this last night. It was alright...nothing special though.

The story line seemed kinda patchy and really leaves a lot to be desired. I've been hearing that this movies strong point was in it's special effects and action scenes...and I'm wondering why I've heard that so many times. The special effects weren't anything to special. The soundtrack wasn't very impressive...some of the action scenes were pretty cool, but could have been better.

    Charlize was hot, as usual.

Overall, I'd probably give it a 6/10. I doubt I'll be buying this one anytime soon.

For me, I think the reason that I felt like something was missing at the very end...was the sudden change in tone. In the first part of the movie, it builds up with Will Smith's character and you are expecting it to pan out as hero flick usually does. But then with the twist, the plot goes with it, and all of sudden the conflict is drastically different from what you'd expect. I think I had a hard time adjusting the new tone, even though intellectually I thought it was original.

And I had read an interview with Charlize in a magazine, where she said that there is something about her character that will be surprising...having that in the back of my mind probably set up too many expectations. Still, I enjoyed the film.
