As I'm sure many of you have noticed, I posted a very positive review of my new Cary CAD-200 amp. As such, it's time to make these units available to fellow Polkies.
Sold and shipped-thanks, John!-First up is my venerable HCA-2200. I have the original version, "mark I" if you will. It's a 6/10 on the A'gon scale unfortunately, but if you want to get some serious power to your SDA's or LSi's then this is the ticket. Very dynamic sound with great bass and solid mids and highs. A definite upgrade over a Carver M1.0t.
Here's the specs on the Mark II (it's all I can find) but I don't doubt the mark I is very similar: Parasound HCA-2200ii specs
Also, here's the Owner's Manual of the Mark II in PDF: HCA-2200ii Owner's Manual
Here's why it's a 6/10: I bought it about 4 years ago from Hawthorne Stereo in Seattle. Whoever had it before had rack mounted it without rubber washers or grommets. Some of the anodizing or finish is wearing off the cooling fins. I had to replace the binding posts since all the nuts had loosened and could no longer tighten down on spades. I only overheated it once and that was because I missed wired the SDA channels after upgrading the binding posts.
Last up is my HCA-1000. I've had it almost as long as the 2200 but only recently decided to try and bi-amp with it with very solid results. It's an 8/10. I might be a 9, but one of the little rubber pads on the bottom of the feet has gone missing.
Here's the specs for the HCA-1000: HCA-1000 specs
And the owner's manual: HCA-1000 Owner's Manual
Here's a quick review I did regarding bi-amping with these 2 amps: Parasounds bi-amping
Pricing: Here's the deal, I have no original boxes or packing materials or anything for either of these amps, so I'm gonna have to do a super custom packing job for them.
I'd like $265 shipped for the HCA-1000 in the lower 48. I think these regularly sell for $250 on the 'Gon so you get shipping and a mega packing job easily worth way more than $15.
As for the big boy 2200, I'd like $400 due to it's condition and "only" being a mark 1. It's so big I have to do actual shipping charges on it to the lower 48. I'm willing to bet it will come in at around 75lbs. shipped weight, so be prepared for some shipping sticker shock.
I've been using FedEx ground from Kinko's with good results, so that's my planned shipper.
Thanks for looking,
Wes
