Sold and Shipped to SKsolutions

I was testing my new Sunfire CGP. I had to test the processor with this B&K amp because my Sunfire amp will not be in for a few days, and there is only a 7 day return policy on the TGP. So...I did a stupid thing and plugged the RCA jack in while the power was on and blew the 1 channel on the B&K amp  .

$130 shipped anywhere in the East + PayPal. Work something out if you are farther away.

I am totally bumbed about this; ruined a sunny day.

Check out the fuses before selling it. If it still is broken, put me down as well, I could use it as 2ch amp.

I looked and all the fuses looked good, unless they do not have to be totally broken to be bad. I really only took a good look at the channel one fuse, but then I got to thinking why were the there fuses in there for the 3 channels that do not exist. Maybe they are wired in parallel with the 3 existing channels. I will have to take a look at the specs in that link. If they are wired in parallel, that means that if one fuse goes bad, say the 6th channel fuse, it would cause the 6th and 1st channel to go out.

paymontha, according to the service manual, there are two rail fuses (F1 and F2 - slow blow fuses on V+ and V- rails).

Per parts list, there are also F1A, F1B, F2A and F2B fuses. They are the same 4A fuses. I haven't looked at the schematic in detail, but they are most likely rail (V+ and V-) fuses for each channel (2 fuses per channel).

Find the above 6 fuses, and check the continuity with the multimeter - even with the cheap multimeter (just check that the resistance is zero ohms).

If the fuses are good, then it's likely that you blew something in the channel (like an output transistor).

(and I am still very interested in buying this amp ;)).

If I'm reading the thread right, it's up to dcmeigs. If he doesn't take it, I'd be happy to.

I think the OP is still looking to get it fixed, as he should. If he chooses to go with the order of interest expressed, yes, it's up to dcmeigs, then me and I won't pass it up, could pair it with the 3ch Acurus I just got to get 5 channels.

The stork just delivered my baby Sunfire. So, I will not be ampless if I selloff the B&K. So as soon as I can get it unpacked and checked out, I will replace all six fuses in question. If that does not work out, the price stands and dcmeigs has firsts. I do request that anyone on the other side of the Miss. help out with the shipping. I am guessing about $60 to the west coast via UPS ground.
