Time alignment for not much$$?

Hey guys, I've been looking for a while now & cant seem to find anything. Does anyone know of any add-on processors/eq's that have TA? I have a eclipse 8061 deck that I want to keep so getting a new HU isnt an option & alpine units seem to require a alpine hu to use all the features. Audiocontrol units dont seem to have any TA features unless im mistaken. I would rather keep it under $300 or so since I just spent $380 on some SR6500's.

I dont think there are any under $300. The Rockford Fosgate 360.1 might have it but its over $300 retail plus you have to buy a PDA that will do Blue Tooth.
Honestly, a new head unit is the only way to go as far as I know. The Alpine 9887 is the best one IMO. It retails for about $400. I know you said thats not an option but its the only one I can think of without buying an actual processor like the H701.polkaudio sound quality competitor since 2005

If you expand the budget a bit...

I like the concept of the RF 3Sixty products-
http://cgi.ebay.com/Brand-New-Rockford-Fosgate-SOUND-PROCESSOR-3SIXTY-1_W0QQitemZ380042164586QQihZ025QQcategoryZ79842QQssPageNameZWDVWQQrdZ1QQcmdZViewItem
You'll need the 3Sixty.2 if you want time alignment, plus you'll have to spring for a Palm Bluetooth PDA.

So if you're intent on keeping your head unit, the Alpine PXA-H701 comes in less than a 3Sixty.2, but without an Alpine AiNet head unit to control the processor you'll be needing one of these too:

It ends up cheaper to replace the hed unit no matter how you slice it . -
Yea I was looking at those all yesterday. I think I have found what I need though but its an older processor that goes with my hu. The eclipse 39011, it lets my hu control TA & has 11band eq. Its not as good as the new choices im sure but it should do what I need. Now its going to be a pain trying to find one im sure.

You don't need a blue tooth PDA if you have a laptop or a some smart phones with BT.

I vote Pioneer 880 or 800 (same unit, differant colors). You can run active and TA, goes for about $280 on ebay.HU: 880PRS

Yeah, nothing more fun that tuning a 31 band EQ on a cell phone screen!!! You dont have to have a PDA but they are the best to use. A laptop is too cumbersome if you do a lot of tuning.polkaudio sound quality competitor since 2005

Not to mention, they cost a little more .
I've seen refurb'd Palm Pilots w/ Bluetooth at a local liquidator last year, plain white box for $69...still waiting for the $69 laptop, and not willing to buy one from the guy with the raincoat and the Rolecks watchs . -
My cell phone screen is nearly as big as my PDA.
Besides the fact that my laptop does a couple other things than controlling my 360

i think theres is another option (the whole Imprint Module):
look at this:

and if you have an Alpine HU with AiNet here is a cheaper option:

That is a very nice HU, and I can understand your reluctance to change it out. You could try to look around for a PPI DCX-730 Digital Signal Processor. These are kind of hard to come by now, but they do pop up once in a while.
Here was a listing on ebay....not directing you to this seller, just showing you some information on it and some more pictures.

Yea I was looking for one of those but could never find one. I found a guy selling a eclipse 39011 that hooks up to my HU for $75 & I ended up buying that yesterday. Seems like good piece even though its about 7 years old. Its got a 24bit burr-brown D/A converter which my hu didnt have, 11 band eq & time alignment, so it should do everything I need. But thanks for the help guys, i appreciate it.

That's a very nice find .
The best setup I've had was my old Alpine gear from around 1998 (CDA-7949/PXA-H600), and I've had a lot of HU's since then. Almost all top of the line units too. The processor had six DAC's, four of which were 20bit Burr Browns (for the main channels). If the HU was not so picky with CD-R's I would still be running that setup now.Alpine: CDA-7949

or...
install speakers so that u dont need to use TA. -
I dont want to keep the car I have for much longer, so whiping out the resin to make custom mounts for speakers isnt an option. Even if I did, im still going to be closer to the left speakers than the right. Why not take advantage of technology when its there?
