TC60i Rear surround Placement (Ceiling)

Please forgive me if this has been posted before, I searched quite a bit but could not find anything

I finally just received two TC60i speakers for my rear 7.1 surround. My current setup is:

L/R Fronts: TC615i (Wall Mount - 1' from left right of TV)
Center: TC615i (Wall Mount - Above TV)
L/R Surrounds: TC615i (Wall Mount - Pretty close to left and right of listener)

Since the TC60i's have an offset and are going to be ceiling mounted, I am not sure how far back to put them. The room has an open back, so I could place them almost any distance, and also how far apart to space them. Also, the front speakers/Center are slightly offset from the centerline of the room by a few feet. Should this be reflected in the rear surrounds? The side surrounds are symmetric with the room. The seating is centered/offset from the centerline of the room depending on where you sit. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Additional Info - The room is approx 13' wide by 26' long. TV to couch distance is about 13', so half way. Surrounds are left and right at 13'.

Thanks,
Tom

If it were me I'd put them in with the same symmetry as the front, well behind you.

You think maybe 6' behind the listener?

If you have it. How big is the area now?

The room is approx 13' wide by 26' long. TV to couch distance is about 13', so half way. I would guess there is another 10'-13' into the kitchen that is available for ceiling mounted speakers.

    Yes, 6' should be good.

    Ok,

I did a preliminary very rough measurement, and it looks like a light and some studs will be in the way. I will need to either move them to about 4.5' or as far as 8'. Which would be better? I calculated distance between as 2.8' from centerline, so, 5.6' between speakers. That puts it roughly in the Dolby angle reference of 150deg.

An interesting thing occured to me. If I place them behind my drop-down lights (The ones in the way of the 6' position), then, with the 15Deg angle of the speakers, the sound would hit off of my granite countertop. I am not sure if this would add or detract from the audio, but it is an interesting observation.

Here are two photos of the room... Please excuse the small TV with giant wall mount, the new one is coming in soon...
