General hookup question

I have a modest home theater system. I am happy with the sound I get but am always wondering if I am getting the most out of it. I use the prefered hookup option #1 in my Polk subwoofer manual which is connecting the front speakers to the speaker level output and connecting the speaker level input to my receiver. I have the S-Video going from my DVD player to my t.v. and I use fiber optic for the DVD player to the receiver. My wife and I live in an apartment so I don't have the ideal room for a home theater. I read a lot of the posts in the forum and there are a lot of people who know way more than I do so hopefully if I'm not maximizing my system someone will let me know. Thanks.

My System:

T.V.: Sony Trinitrom 27" KV-27V40
Receiver: Kenwood VR-309 DD/DTS
DVD Player: Pioneer DV-414
Front: Polk R50
Center: Polk CSi20
Surrounds: Bose Model 21
Subwoofer: Polk PSW250
Cables: Monster
(Hopefully will upgrade receiver and surrounds in 03)
