and need some help!

A while back I posted in this thread: http://www.polkaudio.com/forums/showthread.php?t=68498 about my charity project. Basically I needed to make a video to show people what their donations were for and what this was all about.

Last year I went to Tibet and filmed a good deal of raw footage documenting my travels; the poverty, the living conditions, and basically the way life was over there. I'd like to make this into a video and use it for fundraising but I seem to be stuck on this part.

Well, this brings me to now: I finally have a copy of Premiere, yet I have absolutely no clue how to get anything done. Simple things like capturing video seem to be incredibly complicated! I can't afford to pay someone to make this video for me, but I'd like some pointers to get started.
